Armor Cap Mod

I do not mod so I don't know how feasible this is. I recently learned that Skyrim's armor cap is only ~567, making any additional points useless. So my idea is that if after hitting that cap extra points were converted to magic resistance at half value. I.E. 567 = 85% damage resistance. If we assume that each point is worth 0.15 resistance then an armor of 850 would give 42 Magic resist/2 for 21 magic resistance. This may be too strong to be balanced, however I like the concept a lot. It gives something back to heavy armor users. As vanilla stands light armor is better in every aspect late game.

 

I would love feedback on this idea. I've downloaded the creation kit and am poking around trying to find a way to do this but once again, I have zero mod creation experience.
