Crash on before the menu appears

Alright, so my game crashes before the start menu appears most likely from mods. Ive used BOSS on it and its still won't do anything. Its been really frustrating since i really really, and i mean REALLY want to play new vegas with mods.My esps and NVSE Version: 0.2.0.12

I understand this is a lot of things to check for but i'm really lost right now. I've deleted the mods i feel could have been the reason and i've deactivated a number of the mods you see here to no avail. Help a brother out anyone?

First off, yes that is a lot of mods, and you're most likely going to have issues with some of them behaving weirdly.

 

As for the game not making it to the menu, that is always, ALWAYS a HUD .xml issue. You have installed or uninstalled a HUD mod that has left an old include line in one of the menus that's looking for a nonexistent file.

 

Use uHUD to fix those kinds of problems, and watch what mods you install and what they are overwriting. If you still have issues, make sure you run a BOSS sort on the whole thing.

i didn't look at your mod list... TLDR... but i had two problems similar to what you are describing:

 

1. game loaded, went through two starting splash screens, and crashed with the "send/don't send" message thing.... this was caused by a hud problem... specifically, i uninstalled darnui and left the font changes in the ini's (fairly certain this was the problem)

 

2. game loaded up to the main menu screen, but the main menu never appeared... i figured it was just loading a lot, since i just got done installing possibly over 100 mods, but i went to sleep, and woke up 10 hours later with the menu still not there... but what i did that for some reason fixed it... deleted my merged patch, made a new one with only my weapon/armor mods in it... and that seemed to fix it.... i also unchecked "lings pretty things"
