Ussula76
Hello fellow oblivion fans~ I have been downloading mods for over a year now, systematically looking through them. Unless the ones I want were saomehow missed or loaded up to the nexus after I had already been through that section, then there are some things I would love to see that I didnt see when I looked. I will likely post a series of requests as there were a lot of things I was hoping to find. First let me explain quickly why i want these. It is about more than just me wanting these few simple requests for my own personal entertainment. Im actually in school right now for illustration of books and for game design. thats a LOT of art classes up front and ive been taking them a couple years now. have not even gotten around to the programming part of the degree at all. so i do not know anything about how to do this myself in computer programs yet at all. the best source for help is the cs wiki and the forums, which have been a better help than nothing,. but i learn best in person with hands on training. therefore due to knowledge restraints and time restraints i need help creating some of the objects i want. the mod i wish to create is really huge and detailed and i also cannot do that on my own. so any mods i request will be also needing permissions to use them in my own mods. Many thanks in advance to anyone who wishes to oblige the requests. You may contact me on here anytime if you need to ask me anything, although sometimes i do go a while before checking to see if i have messages so please be patient. the mod requests themselves part 1 - cloaks - i have seen "capes" but not "cloaks" , other than the LOTR ones. I do not hate the LOTR ones but i would like a variety of colors and styles maybe some embroidered poatterns. it must look like a cloak, as in word LOTR style, NOT worn like a cape such as what superheroes wear. some hood options would be nice as well. perhaps the assassin version, being black of course, if one should wish to try for it, could have a partial face coer like the nightingales armor did in skyrim. i really like that option. body shape shifter - i do not know the technical cs term for what i want so im calling it this. sorry. what i want here is a program or script that is easy for noobs like me to use as a modder that will allow me to more easily and readily take the vanilla bodies and transform them in the cs to the main major alternate body shapes such as exnem or roberts male and so forth. i would like the same option for all clothes. i do not need to be able to switch the body shape in game, just in cs as a modder. i have seen a lot of good clothes in the nexus mods but there are so many different body shapes i dont think they will all fit properly on all the different body types in some of the race mods. THANKYOU!!!!

This is impossible. Period. Bodies and clothing do not work the way you seem to think they do.
Ussula76
This is impossible. Period. Bodies and clothing do not work the way you seem to think they do. Awww alright. Is there any other options then for changing the body fit of clothes at least? I have seen many mods that have clothes made to fit HGEC as well as roberts male and female as well as other body shape mods so Im a bit confused as to how it isnt possible to do at all. If even just the clothes could be changed seperately in the cs it would help a lot. or if a bpdy shape of a new race could be made to fit the HGEC model for example that would help and would be better than nothing at all. thanks
DrakeTheDragon
The biggest trouble is the body meshes and the skin textures. Skin textures are defined "per race". Every NPC of race "Breton" for example will use one and the same skin textures. Installing a body mod for, say, HGEC this will make the whole female population of the race "Breton" use HGEC textures.Body meshes are included in the clothing/armor items, or when nude retrieved from the one and only source "meshes/characters/_male". According to this "all" actors use the same body meshes, no exception. If you get an NPC to wear an item for, say, Robert's Female now, the NPC will have a Robert's Female body mesh inside the item, but nude bodyparts will still be HGEC.The skin textures the actor uses will still be HGEC as well, as you cannot change them on a per-actor basis. This will render you with Robert's Female meshes trying to use HGEC textures, and due to the massive difference in layout this will never work. Your trouble at hand is you have a selection of fine items made for several different bodies and want to be able to use them all. You can certainly come up with some batch scripts, each installing the skin textures, body meshes and stock clothing and armor replacers for a selected body/body mod, but it will still not affect all mod-added items, and it will still follow the restrictions I mentioned above. All races will have the same body and no actors can wear the non-exchanged items without causing texture issues. You will always end up with a group of items that can't be worn, as there can only be 1 body in use ever. There are scripted ways to make different races use different body meshes and also switch clothing/armor items to only use ones for the right body, but it cannot be done for single actors. Also all such approaches come with their drawbacks, and it's basically still very much a work in progress to get this done properly. I can, for example, by use of massive scripting, make my anthro-dragon race use its very own set of body meshes and only allow fitting (=adapted by me) items to be worn, which I do, proof that it "can" be done, but this in itself is a restriction already, as you cannot wear just any item you want on one of my dragons as a consequence. Right now you can wear almost "no" items at all on my dragons, as I didn't have time to adapt them, yet. "This" I call a major drawback of my approach. As Drake describes, what you want is only possible via scripting. There is a mod (not available on Nexus) called "Setbody Reloaded" that can do much of what you want, but its heavily scripted and very complex. The Oblvion Engine was not designed to handle more than one body mesh per gender, so any solutions are workarounds. The CS also has essentially nothing to do with meshes at all. All manipulation of meshes has to be done in an external program (NIFSkope, Blender, 3DMax, etc). The CS just takes the mesh, whatever it is, and allows you to put it into the game. Ussula76
Ahhh i think i understand better, thankyou. i would be ok with a conversion of the body meshes of all acotrs ofeach race to HGEC or whatever i choose to use instead of doing it per npc or actor. i would be willing to work with these restrictions in the best possible ways available when it comes to clothing and armors then for the body mesh chosen. Im not trying to work outside the scripting and the system so much as just havnt reached a point in this yet where i understand how it works. thanks for the explainations. if anyone is willing to work with me on this person to person i would be willing to discuss things further with them. as stated i do have college classes during the school year that can be time consuming (art classes) but will do what i can in spare time. if anyone wishes to discuss this further and possibly participate as stated, you can message me here or thru the mail system and i can give my skype. i tend to work and learn MUCH better hands on and watching examples in person but when in person isnt necessary, skype often helps. thats just my learning style. other things such as reading books with no pictures tends to simply confuse me. thankyou.
