Michlo
This is a great idea. It aims to teach people the effects of a bad diet beyond weight problems, etc. http://www.yoobot.co.uk/
Vagrant0
This is a great idea. It aims to teach people the effects of a bad diet beyond weight problems, etc. http://www.yoobot.co.uk/Yay, another overly complicated, politically motivated thing which is designed to encourage healthy eating and living, but does little to provide much in the ways of actuallity... In otherwords, another system just as faulty as the food pyramid (now stairs or something) in the states. It places too much emphesis on the generic properties of foods... fats, starches, sugars, protien, but places almost no importance on getting the right balance of vitamins and minerals. For instance, the game allows you to set a diet of nothing other than potato shells and water. And yet, by their measure, you remain in almost perfect health till almost 100 years old. Adding in an excessivly active lifestyle, and it makes even less sense. Anyone who actually followed such a plan would likely have serious health problems within a month, as they literally sweat out nutrients, and begin breaking down parts of themselved to obtain those nutrients. They likely wouldn't survive longer than a month or two without intervention... And that's IF they didn't die of exhaustion within the first week. Similarly, while at the other end of the spectrum a diet of nothing but chocolate cake and energy drinks, without any activity suggests that the person would be able to live much longer than they should. Their health may suck, but they still make it to their 50's no problem (after that it's pretty much downhill anyway). Then there are other things like stress, genetics, environment, which can play a significant role in general health, often much more than what you eat. This is just another version of the same sort of narrow sighted idea which does not apply to reality, and likewise, does not work. This sort of thing does not work because most humans are lazy, stupid, and fond of whatever helps them forget about their miserable lives. They feed this crap to kids, but at the same time cut back afterschool activities, limit youth sports, and allow unhealthy products to be marketed to children. Seriously, ever look to see how much sugar is in some cereals? It is worth a few minutes of bored curiousity, but as a model for living, holds no value. The sims actually does it better.
