syntroniks
Well I offer myself as a candidate. I have a tad bit of recording experience, unfortunately the only microphone I have at the moment is extremely poor quality. I am a relatively experienced actor (not voice, just actor), but I would be willing to contribute. Unfortunately in my opinion, I have a very limited range of voices. It is either my acting voice, my normal voice, or something goofy. I feel that it would be best to stick with the serious acting one. Dramatic it is. Samples, we shall see if I can happen upon a microphone. Throw me a line and I'll see if I can come up with a sample. Keep in mind this will be an 18 year old's voice so it doesn't sound very good IMO but we'll see. Oh, and I suppose it just so happens to by my first post on this forum

veliv
The time has come! We are looking for volunteers to be Voice actors. You should be from one of the countries that make up the Valhalla nation, i.e. Norway, Sweden or Finland but we will also accept other English speaking Northern Europeans to make up numbers if we fall short. Accented English is preferred to either the Queen's English, Commonwealth or American English. Sorry you native speakers but we want our voices to sound correct. See the page http://www.project-valhalla.org/Voice_Acting and http://www.project-valhalla.org/Talk:Voice_Acting for more info. To be more precise, ATM we would need someone to voice over our teaser. If you think you have it in you, try recording the script and uploading it to the wiki. We are looking for a voice with bit whiskey in it;)
Heed
I also will offer my services for voice acting. I haven't done much as for radio/video, however I am an experienced puppeteer and Am used to doing drama and various skits and having to do different voices. I also attempt to do celebrity impressions, but I do not boast to be the best. I have also been the M.C. for various events (Auctions and such). If you would like, e-mail me a script and I will send you back a sample. Include what tone, mood and situation to act in and I will be happy to help. I almost forgot... I am from New York (Not New York City) My accent is standard North Eastern. I can also imitate various foreign accents quite well, in my own opinion but you can be the judge. I can do (Australian, French, British, Chinese/Japanese and a few miscellaneous.) [email protected]
Piquet
To the guys that are interested in helping, I will give details of "Project MONAD" - something I am planning if we get the SDK. I am a mod developer from the UK who has recently joined this community and I plan to try something very ambitious if I can put the right team together. Please PM me and I'll send you some details by email. I'm looking mainly for adult voices, American or Canadian preferred (male and female). Teenagers will be considered so long as you have a mature sounding voice. I also would like some heavily accented European voices (male and female), same as above - if you sound mature and can deliver - you will be considered. You must be able to record a sample wav to send me to keep on file as I have other things planned for the future that may suit your talents. Thanks for offering your help. rbenoit1978
Ok, I played around with what I have available to me. Surprisingly, the mic that's attached to my Platronics headset works quite well recording voice. I recorded it with Adobe Soundbooth, and after playing with some of the filters and hiss removal tools, It's pretty clear. I had a thought. I think there should be a voice acting section on the Nexus so those of us who want to try voice acting, can upload characters and/or samples for the modders to choose from. What does everyone think? teddybearman
I took some theatre when I was in college, and was a lead bass singer in my high school and later on college vocal jazz group. That doesn't necessarily mean I was 'good', but I do have a bit of experience using my voice if anyone's looking for amateur voice talent. My sound recording knowledge is a bit limited though, we always had a 'guy' for that.
