So Skyrim has been crashing to my desktop for the past 3 days. I have disabled all mods, all plugins, I've tried playing with SKSE but it kept crashing. Then I tried playing it through Steam but still the same. I checked to see if everything was updated, which it was.

It crashs when I click on "Continue" in Skyrim's main menu, and a screen pops up saying "This save relies on relics that are no longer present....." I click on "Yes", and right after 10 seconds on loading screen it crashes to my desktop. Anyone have a clue on what's going on?

That means that you have removed a mod that the save game needs to run. This could happen if you were to say, wear a full set of armor that you have from a mod, save, remove the mod, then load the save. You should not do this! That is probably what happened. The only way to fix it I would think is that you should go back and reinstall your mods, and see if the savegame works. If you can't fix it, the only solution would be to: Deactivate all mods in nexus mod manager, go to skyrim folder (with TESV.exe) and delete the folder, then put in the installation disk for skyrim, and click reinstall. (You can do this through steam if you dont have a disk)

If you are going to remove a mod, first, in the game - remove any assets that were added to your character by that mod - armor weapons clothing etc. Then, move to a safe cell - Typically an inside cell that none of your mods have made any changes to. Then make a save. - make a second save as a backup if you are paranoid.

Then exit the game. Remove but do not delete that mod. restart the game and go into the cell where you removed everything to be sure it is gone. Play a while to be sure nothing is going to happen. Then if you want, you can delete the mod from your computer ( I always keep a copy in a separate folder - just in case)

This is what some mod authors refer to a a 'clean save'.

I don't know if this is the place to tell about crash or not , so sory if wrong forum topic.

Anyways I recently got Dawnguard DLC and everything runs smootly till i reach castle volkihar. When I try to open the gate to enter the castle the loading pops up and after that it crashes out to the desktop. I'm using their highresolution texture pack to. It might that be the problem or another mod?

Thanks!
