Nacira
Hi everyone ! First of all, I love Nexus for few years now so thank you to every single one of you who have work so hard to make mods so great ! ^^Secondly, I'm French so it will be great if you could be kind enough to excuse me the (numerous) mistakes I'm know I do. ^^" I have a very small request. I do a lot of alchemy with my warrior princess (=P) and I like experimenting with ingredients but it's time consuming if you want to get it right. What I would like is a mod which greying out effects an ingredient DO NOT have after experimenting. I'm not sure I will be clear otherwise so I have an example :Ingredient A has effect 1,2 & 3 known (let's name them Alpha, Beta & Gamma) but not de 4th one. I experiment it with ingredient B which I know all 4 effects to be Phi, Khi, Psi & Omega. The potion failed. Ingredient B is greyed out if I select ingredient A again. But what I would like is that the 4 effects I know ingredient A can't have to be greyed out in every other ingredient too. So if I select A, when I move my mouse over ingredient C which have effect Beta, Zeta, Psi & Khi, I can see Psi & Khi are greyed out but not Eta & Zeta (because I didn't test those 2 effects).I can do the same thing on paper but it's taking A LOT of time... [For those who didn't understand anything because my explanation sucked, maybe this two that I found will help you :- Effects that ingredients are known not to have. That is, let's say you cross an ingredient with another ingredient which has some effect, let's say, cure poison. The experiment fails. You now know that the ingredient being tested definitely does NOT have cure poison. By keeping an internal list of effects an ingredient is known to definitely not have, we could grey out additional ingredients, particularly if one of the ingredients has all four effects known, and your other ingredient you want to test is known to not have any of the four effects on the "known" ingredient. Process of elimination.- I cross ingredients A & B. Ingredient A has known effects C & D. The potion fails. So, what I'm looking for is the game to track, per ingredient, that ingredient B does *NOT* have effects C&D.Why would this be useful? Because, let's say there's ingredient E, for which I know all 4 effects. The game is tracking what effects ingredient B does NOT have, even though, say, two of it's effects are currently unknown. It sees that all the effects for ingredient E are in the list of effects for ingredient B which we definitely know that B does NOT have. Therefore, it can "grey out" ingredient E so that I don't try to cross those two, even though I've never crossed them.Source : http://www.gameskyrim.com/alchemy-experimentation-mod-t208345.html ] If it is possible, could someone do that, please ? :) Edited December 2, 2012 by Nacira
LukeH
I'd love this idea but I'm afraid you won't see that soon. It will require GUI changes (Flash) and maybe, just maybe, someone as skilled and dedicated as the SkyUI guys could do such thing. They published the sources for the Skyrim GUI so if someone else skilled with Flash wishes to work on this will have a starting point. With CK it will be possible maybe to show a list of some sort with effects the item doesn't have but won't be integrated in the alchemy GUI and hard to use. Nacira
Thank you for your answer (sorry I didn't saw it earlier). I didn't know it was so complicate to do such a thing but I understand now why it wasn't done before... I will leave a comment on the SkyUI page to see if they could (and would) eventually do it. :)
