MIVEC
G'day all,So I've downloaded a few new weapon mods and was wondering about changing the noise they make when firing. I can see from the filenames in the fx folders that these are .wavs and so I got a few different gun noises from Company of Heroes which also uses .wavs for weapon noises.I then tried simply changing the file name of the CoH sounds to what was listed in the fx folder. Then go into the game and no noises occur which is a bit disappointing. So what am I missing? Any and all help appreciated.

mazur49
To make it right you ned to know parametrs ( bitrate, mono or stereo, sampling frequency) of original sounds and convert your third party noises correspondingly. Otherwise game engine would not be able to recognise and propely read them. Best way of doing above mentioned is to take some sound editing software (eg Audacity). audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
