Automatron: Arrived too late

By the time I arrived at the location to start the Automatron DLC the distress signal was no longer playing, and all of the enemy robots were either dead or missing.

 

When I try to talk to Ava all she can say is, "I'm searching for the target."

 

Tried resurrecting two of the dead robots to see if her destroying them again would correct the issue, but it didn't.

 

Any ideas?

 

 

Edited to add:

 

Never mind. Apparently, the eyebot is the trigger. I resurrected it, then destroyed it, and that lifted the "Eliminate hostiles" flag.

 

 

Funny that the quest breaks if the NPCs are able to take care of themselves without the player's help.
