Sorry for a please help post, but I'm at my wits end. So I recently got back into playing Skyrim SE and obviously I wanted to mod my game. Problem is I've spent two days now trying to figure out why i keep getting Infinite loading screens. This is all happening right at the beginning of my game. I've installed and uninstalled numerous mods to try and fix it, but nothing works. I've enabled memory management in enginefixes.ini, tried bethini and numerous other things. I'm using Vortex to install and I'm thinking it might be an issue with load order at this point, but I can't figure out where. Also i recently got this error in vortex:

Wed, 11 Mar 2020 15:07:19 GMT - error: unrecoverable error details=, message=Cannot read property 'Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul-173-0-4' of undefined, stack=TypeError: Cannot read property 'Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul-173-0-4' of undefined

Gonna reinstall that mod as it could be the issue, but still going to post my load order. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

edit 1 - Just tried to do a smash patch and it's still doing the same thing.

edit 2 - to clarify I've only been to Bruma so far, used LAL to start there as I hadn't really done much with the mod previously and wanted to see how it looked these days. The Infinite load screens seem to happen when going through any door/load screen.

edit 3 - Immersive Citizens reinstalled so the error went away. Infinite loading screen still happening both with and without the mod installed still.

Load order(Sorry for it being a long mess):

Have you tried disabling immersive citizens and any associated patches? (presumably Immersive citizens AI Overhaul is just that)

It doesn't appear to be Immersive Citizens. I reinstalled that mod and the error I was getting went away, but the constant infinite loading screen still seems to be an issue. Tried it on a fresh saved game without IC.

Again, have you tried loading the game with the immersive citizens mod disabled (and any associated mods)?

You said "I reinstalled it". that isn't "I tried opening the game with the Immersive Citizens mod disabled"

Beyond Reach claims to be the equivalent of 3 provinces. Bruma is also big. To this you add Vigilant, Forgotten City and Moonpath. Then you add Sofia, Inigo and Lucien, alll proudly proclaimiing how much dialogue they include.

I had a sufficiently advanced character with a stable save before adding Forgotten City and trying it out. I then went back to the original save and removed it. Although worth playing there was nothing there worth returning to. I have tried Beyond Reach in the same way. As recommended for some other mods (such as Rigmor) I would keep that for a separate playthrough without much else.

Sofia and Inigo are entertaining for a time, but if you want to use a lot of scripts you are better off without them.

Does Hearthfire Extended work with other additions to Lakeview?

Sorry I wrote my last reply while half asleep. I meant I reinstalled it to get rid of the error message, but then also completely removed it.

You have a fair point on that one. Might have went overboard with the additional content stuff. (Had a rough couple of months, got depressed and decided to return to Skyrim without much actual thought to what I was adding.) I removed Forgotten City, but I'll also take out a few of the followers too and see how it loads. Also I'm not sure about your last question, I don't actually have that.

Thanks both of you for replies. It gives me a place to continue troubleshooting, I'll update how it runs after removing more of the DLC like content.

So I actually removed everything you listed, including a few others and holy crap it's still doing it. Looks like it's going to be a lengthy process. I'm currently just doing the old fashioned uninstall everything one by one until It stops doing it. The Infinite loading screens are so bad I get them either right after character creation or within 5 minutes of starting, usually the second door I pass through.

Meanwhile, I hope you're trying to use older saves for your checks. Your most recent save may be irretrievably compromised and won't' open no matter how many mods you remove. I've had to pitch many saves along the way while debugging, due to the problems they have included in their contents.

OK, back to the beginning. Do you have the latest updates for all your equipment, especially the graphics card?

I'll assume you have sufficient CPU, RAM etc. Do you have any background programs running? Vortex often leaves one hanging that does not show up on Task Manager. Make sure you are logged out if you are using that. Check your antivirus settings and any other updaters. Norton has thrown me out of Skyrim in the past. Go through your start-up programs. Do you really need them?
