ScorpionXIII
Understandably, there is a limited amount of work that can be done on fallout 3 until the G.E.C.K. kit is released. However, when that time comes, there is something that I and a large group of others would like to see done in F3. Actually, we wanted it to be done in Oblivion, but we feel that it would be far better and far simpler to do it in F3. Our challenge to modders is this: Create a large mod that adds several Costumes, Weapons, and Creatures.... of the Starcraft Universe! We are not asking for a total conversion here, and believe that a skilled modder could do an excellent job on this. We would like to see things like Terran Marine Armor, Terran Ghost armor(With cloak ability(WAY TO EASY IN F3), Dark Templar clothes (OR even a protoss race is possible) , Several Starcraft Unit weapons such as the marine rifle, the ghost cannister rifle, the protoss zealot psiblades, and above else, custom enimies moddled after who else but the Zerg whose models can be copied from units such as the zergling, the hydralisk, the flying mutalisk, and even the gigantic Ultralisk. Again, there can be far MORE added to this, especially if a modder can get vehicles working. We understand that this would take quite a long time to complete, but if done correctly, and above everything else, perfectly(sounds, graphics, animations), This could benefit the modder(s) substantially in the long run. GL modders. Those looking for inspiration can visit several Starcraft related websites, including several Blizzard owned ones: http://www.battle.net/scc/http://starcraft2.com/http://www.creepcolony.com/category/starcrafthttp://www.sc2armory.com/game/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starcraft Starcraft Progaming Websites following the BEST starcraft players in the world(for modders to see actually the game itself is played)(although who in their right mind has not played starcraft at some point?): http://www.teamliquid.net/http://www.gomtv.net/videos/?cate=4 P.S. - If there is anyone here that REALLY wants to see this happen even if someone here on these forums will not attempt it, feel free to post this challenge on any other Fallout 3 modding website or forums available. ~ScorpionXIII
Conscripted
Gee, you're not asking much, now are you? Instead of coming in here and asking someone else to make an entire other game in this one, why don't you get together with all those other people who want to see it get done and do it yourselves? I've decided that I'm going to learn how to mod so that I can help with the WH40K conversion. Why not ask for help to do the same for this instead of just asking for it to get done without any effort on your part?

I have every intention of doing work on these things myself. Lets take a step back here. I did not mean to "imply" that other modders do the work so other people reap the benefits. Ultimately, i actually did not think anyone would bother anyway. The RPG communities rarely import any non-rpg elements. For the record, i myself am not a good modder. The things that i attempted to do for oblivion...uh, sucked. So while im trying to get better at modeling and texturing, i dont see my own skills reaching a point where i could do these types of mods for a while. Call it a stupid dream. Anyway, full well doubting that many people would say, "hey thats a good idea", my full intentions behind the post was merely to let it be known, so that it _might_ be possible for the idea to dwell in someones head for awhile. With that on the record, the first thing im working on myself is the marine armor, speciafically for the very reason that it could fit so easily as power armor, and that i really only need to add ontop of an existing set. Hopefully that can keep you from yelling next time? Seriously man, to assume that i myself, off of 1 post, am _not_ trying to do these things is kinda stupid. While i cant speak for the people i know, i can speak for myself in saying that the crap that I can make is far below the quality that ive seen several modders achieve. I think you misunderstand me, maybe I didn't use enough smiley faces. I wasn't berating you, I was suggesting that you try to build a group of like minded modders to help you fulfil your dream. Ultimately people do make mods for the good of others, even if many times they just wanted to do something for themselves. I do expect and hope that many people will reap the benefits of whatever I can provide. However, I've seen plenty of tutorials and people around here willing to help a novice, such as yourself, to learn how to make models, skins or scripts. So with those things in mind, don't have a guilty conscience and assume people are yelling at you.
Omnimmotus
So with those things in mind, don't have a guilty conscience and assume people are yelling at you.I dunno, it kind of sounded like you were yelling (or speaking in an angry tone) to me too. But no problem, just a little minor confusion. I'd love to see Starcraft armors, weapons and enemies. Perhaps a good way to start would be to replace the Power Armor with Terran Marine Armor, add in Terran weapons and make the BoS guys use them instead of lasers, and then fill the Wasteland with Zerg. The Deathclaw and the Zerg are not so different after all. (Except Zerglings better be weaker than Deathclaw unless the added Terran weapons do absurd levels of damage.) If there were enough Zerg out there, trekking across the Wasteland could be a pretty intense experience. If the Terran weapons used little AP to fire in VATS, or the Terran Marine Armor gave a bonus to AP or AP regeneration, there could be some pretty amazing VATS cutscenes against hordes of Zerglings. Or perhaps adding Terran StimPacks that give large bonuses to AP and damage could work. (Jacked up and good to go.) Once the GECK comes out, a whole new world of possibilities will open up. But for now, I'd love to see some basic Starcraft equipment and enemies in Fallout 3.
Kryztof
Please.... God no..... While I have no reason for "No" other than I hated StarCraft and I hate everything blizzard has done since 1800, I see no reason why not. StarCraft mods might pull all those geeks away from playing the same game since 1998 to a new, better, UPDATED Genre of games. So while I see no reason other than the horrific failure of blizzard and StarCraft in general, it might be good to grab new players. I wonder if the speed of VATS can be modified in anyway?

Really? Well for the first time I see a person who hates blizzard... interesting :D As much as I hate starcraft I am a huge diablo fan, I love a good hack n slash... BTW I read an article yesterday, they were asking questions to Sid Meier, he said that his favorite strategy game is starcraft :D I cant imagine the creator of Civilization is a fan of an RTS :D Oh as for the mod (Yea I murmured off topic), I would love to see some aliens, or maybe some Zerglings lurking around...
