Lucherenren
Well, Oblivion doesn't take in account Dragonball as one of its references, so you will have to make do with mods. For starters: there's already a Saiyan (Saiyajin) variant or two on the Nexus. Also, for those wanting to fly the friendly skies, there are both spells and mods such as Alexander's Wings (and the Ring of Wings). Even then, Oblivion's basic combat system isn't exactly suited to that type of character, at least IMHO, so you might want to stick to the aesthetics only. While it can be tweaked to a surprising degree, the best reward in the game is its immersive nature. Also, while I do like a few shonen/seinen series, the obliterate-whole-mountain-ranges level of destruction is probably a bit too much, at least until you've completed the main quest. Again, it's my opinon. Ingame, you would probably find yourself more comfortable playing a character with an Eastern/Asian feel, there are already several costumes and additions you can try out, including specific hairstyles and face mods: it's easier to look and play as a ninja, a samurai (à la Samanosuke or Heishiro Mitsurugi, to name a few) or a fighting monk... blazingakatosh
Dbz is awesome....but in oblivion now that's crazy!?! (edit): Found some links for you.... Super Saiyan 4 ^That's it for now, lol....
Lucherenren
Dbz is awesome....but in oblivion now that's crazy!?! IMHO, the best definition would be "misplaced". Akira Toriyama gave his world and characters a context: we can argue about the depth, or how editor pressure after the Freezer saga started a "routine", but what matters is - for Jump, on Jump, it worked. Oblivion is a whole different ball game. If somebody wants to play with Studio Bird-inspired characters, I'd rather recommend Dragon Quest adaptations. While the games have a rather "traditional" Japanese RPG feel, it would not be far-fetched to have the Hero/Heroine running about Cyrodill, or a bandit dressed like Yangus (see the eight installment of the series; Angelo/Kukule, from the same episode, is a Trunks visual clone, among things...) The trademark, droplet-shaped DQ slime monsters would also probably be a fun addition to the bestiary, at least for light-hearted games. At least, that's what I think. blazingakatosh
I never said it couldn't work, just it would look.....different? Destroyable environments is a bit far-fetched and the kamehameha could be do-able. The glowing auras and well the hair just wouldn't look right in my opinion. For one the color is a bit bright for oblivion and it just wouldn't match with the textures and meshes of the game.

But... in my opinion the problem lies both in context and in technical issues: the environment handling being the most obvious, like you remarked. While some things can be done, it doesn't just work for me, even for lore-free play.
ganondorf901
that sounds pretty cool, and if done right it can work nicely. I mean, look at midias magic! if that stuff possible then this shouldn't be any harder. serious. that centrion car thing and the abilitiy to blast enimies 2 miles away. The fire shouldn't be that hard or flashy, it would need to be pretty transparent though, and flying should have certian restrictions. you could even create a new world space where this stuff could only be used. then you wouldn't have to worry about destroying important stuff. And the player could kill whatever it want...
