Tchos
A few days ago, I had to reload a previous save, because I wanted to turn off the Enclave radio that was blaring in Underworld. Had just gotten there for the first time, was going around exploring, talking to everyone, etc. Passed by a radio and went to turn it off as I always do, clicked it, and instead of a click and radio-silence I got a "Jet added" (or whatever it was) and the guy behind me yelling "I'm outta here!" because I failed to notice that there was a Jet lying on top of the radio. And of course, everyone in Underworld starts trying to kill me, for this entirely accidental "theft" while attempting to turning off the radio. That wossname, Crowley, he didn't take kindly to my key-keepin' ways and pulled a gun. He shoots me, so I'm like "JUSTIFIED!" and blow his brains out - but now that Greta dyke's takin' pot shots at me from behind the counter and that dude I figured was dead or somethin' wakes up like "You male without a father!" and whacks me with a .32 from a hunting rifle. What the hell? HE STARTED IT YOU RACIST BASTARDS. Made that quest VERY annoying. I loaded a prior save and skipped the quest entirely.
Conscripted
Heh, I guess someone should port the "only steal when hiding" mod from Oblivion into Fallout3.
Tchos
I wasn't aware of that mod! Would have been useful a couple of months ago. I'll definitely be on the lookout for a similar one for FO3 after the CS is released.

I cant understand if it is a bug or the underworld is full of racist ghouls... If you give the keys to Crowley, he tries to go to Fort Constantine, so he goes out of underworld and goes inside a metro tunnel, you can bust his brains out and take the keys :D
Tchos
I had a similar experience with Crowley, but I didn't even go out to get the keys. I talked to him, but didn't accept his quest...then asked around about him, and came back to him and confronted him with what the others had said. He confessed he only wanted the keys, and again offered me the quest. I declined a second time, and then he started shooting at me, and everyone else joined in. They all turn hostile when he turns hostile, even if you don't raise a weapon, and even if you never agreed to get the keys.

Cracks me up when stuff like that happens, however it makes it tough to complete a quest. At Megaton i decided to kill Burke for plotting to blow the place up and chose the dialog option, this town is under my protection.Didn't know what the other NPCs were going to do.So i shot him and everyone in the bar yelled,"Good riddance!",in unison.I walked toward the bar and turned toward the cash register and i got, don't even think about it or we are going to have a problem. Huh?I'm a good guy..
Tchos
I agree, the NPCs give "warnings" about looking at locked items like safes and cash registers much too quickly. Really should have been a slight delay, like you'd need to be looking at it for a couple of seconds before they accuse you of "eying it". Not speaking up when your cursor happens to pass over something while you're looking around the room.
Surgical Scar
I was so pissed when that happened - I annoyed Crowley once too often and suddenly everyone goes apeshit. Here's hoping a patch or mod fixes this.
jaysus
just use a stealthboy and spread his brain and intesties all over the place... then leave the place while the stealth is stil active and dont return too quickly ;)
