PontiacDream
I've noticed this happening pretty much since I installed the game. When I'm outdoors, I frequently see black, flickering / flashing objects (sometimes they look like tiny trees, more often just random polygons / bars) off in the distance (on the hills / mountains, or just in the sky). Sometimes it's closer up, and they look like randomly appearing slices of the void piercing through the fabric of space and time. I've tried turning off anti-aliasing; I've tried turning on (and off) v-sync. Nothing seems to make a difference. Unless part of the intended game experience is that my character is schizofrenic and therefore sees scary, nonsensical things that aren't there (and hey, I guess I could try to roleplay that), I'm thinking this is some kind of graphical issue. It's pretty annoying, and definitely detracts from the gameplay experience -- standing outside with full graphics and distance settings on, I just want to take in the beautiful panoramas. Then the weird stuff starts happening. Especially strange is that, as far as I can remember, this issue never occurs indoors / incave. I'm quite certain this is not a hardware issue because it's not happening in any of the other games I'm playing, even the most graphically taxing ones (e.g. Planetside 2). I've tried searching on google for a solution to this, but nothing that has come up has quite matched the description of what's going on. I thought this might be a mod issue (with one of the lighting / FX mods I installed), but I reinstalled the game and tried it without the mods and the issue was still apparent. Surely one of you intelligent people can help me out? FYI: GPU -- Radeon HD 7970mWindows 7 64 Bit Edited December 6, 2012 by PontiacDream
PontiacDream
I tried taking some screenshots of what I'm talking about. Hard because it flickers so much, but I caught some of it. http://s9.postimage.org/3oxtvm6pq/glitch_1.jpg http://s7.postimage.org/vnepo4nbe/glitch_2.jpg Edited December 6, 2012 by PontiacDream
thebaron2494
I'm having a similar problem although significantly worse, I've tried uninstalling all my mods to figure out if one of them was causing it but I still had the same problem with a clean install. http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/577849023634025863/302A62DED959C499A892FF8B1502E223315F1B4D/ Gpu: Radeon HD 7870win 7 64 bit. I'm wondering if it might be something caused by Catalyst 12.10 Edited December 6, 2012 by thebaron2494

thebaron2494
I just rolled my drivers back to 12.8 and the problems gone. Wish I had thought of it being caused by the drivers before I spent a day re downloading it off of steam  If you cant find them on AMD's website then try these http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/16286/ Edited December 7, 2012 by thebaron2494
