Skyrim Mod Packs

Can we get a mod pack functionality added to skyrim nexus? Something that functions similarly to addon packs on curse- it downloads and installs a list of mods specified by the pack author.

I just reinstalled Skyrim in preparation for Dragonborn but I don't know what the latest and essential mods are that I should get (haven't played in half year). One reason I uninstalled Skyrim in the first place was instability issues with all the mods I had installed. With mod packs, members can specify and maintain a list of their favorite mods and their game setup.

I wanted something pretty similar, perhaps as a premium member feature even. I want to be able to upload the list of mods i have to the nexus, and access this list+download everything on it with the click of a button. Why? Because wiping and reloading or getting a new pc is hard enough to set up.

Not sure if this is in the right section since it is more of a NMM/nexus site feedback.

While mod compilations in general are frowned upon, I can't see the harm of a "list" of mods someone is using, somehow like the "collections" feature at Steam Workshop perhaps. A list of individual mods is far from a compilation, and a list of individual download links can't be frowned upon by authors the pages of whom are frequented that way.

Of course, both sides must be aware that if a set of mods works fine for one individual, there's no guarantee it will still work fine for someone else. The first someone might be doing everything the right way, using sophisticated mod managers, cleaning plugins, maintaining a bashed patch and everything which nowadays needs to be done to get more than 1 mod working together with another one without issues, and of course the second someone needs to be aware of what needs to be done to achieve the same result as well, and has to do exactly the same.

This also limits users of such mod collections to exactly the mods inside the collection, or they waive any rights to a successful coexistance already by installing even a single mod more or less than what's in the list.

Provided all information necessary to get things working as they are for the publisher of the list is also made available for the other users of the list, this could actually turn out better than a total catastrophe. It's still far from a guaranteed success though, best not to forget this. But something along the lines of "following mods made a great experience to me and they were working fine together without conflicts after I did this, this and this!" could in theory actually turn out quite useful.

This is definitely the wrong place for a suggestion such as this, an addition to the site's functionality in general, but I for one support the idea.
