how to fix armor mod CTD

So i downloaded a copy of Wolf Bikini Armor from a backup harddrive of mine (apperently sse mod got deleted a while ago from the nexus). All the armor is there, and there is even the chest in whiterun, but for some reason the book is invisible and if i use additemmenu to go to the mod, the moment i hover over the crafting book, i CTD.

 

What could be the cause when this happens to an armor mod and Is it easily fixable? I donât use many mods and the only one that might effect things related to books is Books of Skyrim

In my opinion, it's most likely a texture/ cubemap issue. Also, check with xEdit that the mod is in the correct form (file header should be form 44, if not you can fix it easily in Creation Kit) and perhaps use Cathedral Asset Optimizer and run your mod through it (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23316). It might fix most mesh/ texture issues.

 

NOTE: If you run the mod through Cathedral Asset Optimizer, MAKE SURE that you use it on a backup copy of your mod. It doesn't create a new copy, it overwrites the mod you selected.

 

If the issue persists after this, you will probably have to look into texture/ meshes individually. Pretty tedious job.
