Dudamesh
I've been using Nexusmods as my source for Stardew Valley mods ever since I started playing Stardew Valley modded and it has been a great service and a very convenient spot for exactly my needsExcept, I've come back just recently to update all of my mods to the latest version of SMAPI (Modding API for SV) and Stardew Valley 1.4, and I've noticed something different. When I download any mod from the site, instead of another layer appearing on the page where I can just tell it to download and it does directly,It's instead taking me to another page, where I am forced to see how premium affects downloading and stuffI have no problem with the slower download, my only problem is why I have to go to another page, just to see that promotion for premium on NexusWe don't have a particularly fast internet connection, and having to load up another full page just to view some self-promotion, gets irritating pretty quickly especially when comparing to how efficient one could download before. Is there a way to turn off these promotions, so that I do not have to go to another page before I can download?I very much assume that I would have to purchase premium for this to happen, but I need confirmation
BigBizkit
There's no way to turn that off per se (other than getting premium membership). While we understand that some users do not like it, we know from watching the numbers develop that it helped the site and enabled us to e.g. substantially up the amount we feed into our mod author rewards program from ~$10,000 to over ~$20,000 per month. https://www.nexusmods.com/about/donation-points/
ozoak
I came here looking for discussion on this page navigation change. I found one thread that appeared quite toxic, so I wont wade in to that one, but this looks to have been civil, if just the one reply  No problem with the additional prompting etc, but was or could there be a page design played with that kept the 'premium reminder' content big and front and centre without requiring page navigation each time?I'm glad it's worked to increase revenue available to pay mod authors, but particularly on mods that have multiple file components to download it is frustrating (and painfully slow* if your internet is crappy as well). * the page transitions, not the file download Edited March 29, 2020 by ozoak
Pasquale1223
When a mod has multiple files, you can right click -> open link in new tab for each one. The main page will stay put in your original tab, and you can manage each download in a new tab. I always do that when I plan to open multiple links from the same source page. It saves time and helps me keep track of where I am on the list of links...
