Vradimir Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Hello everyone. A couple months ago I installed this "New Vegas Redesigned" mod without backing up any of my Data Files. Just recently I went to go play the game after a long hiatus, and it crashed constantly. I'm assuming this is because of the Redesigned mod, as it never happened before. Now I'm trying to take the game back to its original state with the original data files, but the Steam option to "Delete Local Content" doesn't do anything useful. So, is there a way to restore the game to its original state, Data Files and everything?

So, is there a way to restore the game to its original state, Data Files and everything? Start with the 'Delete Local Content'. Then delete the steamapps\common\fallout new vegas folder using whatever filebrowser you like. Then delete My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV folder. That should get everything.
Vradimir Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Alright, so I could reinstall it to its original state, but now I'm getting constant startup crashes. Even when I validate the game cache in Steam, it just crashes immediately after the "Bethesda" logo at the beginning. Very annoying.
luthienanarion Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Make sure that you run the launcher at least once so that the game can set your setting defaults.
mewfii Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Umm it's easier to just get rid of the folder...it will still show up in Steam, you just have to verify the files and then it starts to download the whole thing again...take awhile...
