A word about mod managers ...

This is just my opinion so take it with a gain of salt ...

I notice many people asking question about the mod managers and how they are having troubles with this or that. Myself I couldn't imagine relying on any type of mod manger.
This would be something I would use as a convenience after I already fully tested the mod manually. Skyrim modding is just a bit to complicated to rely on a mod manager totally.
You really should get to know how this is done manually so you can spot errors and get a feel /understanding for how things work for yourself. That said I would only use a mod manager

to install mods ... not utilities or tools. Most the errors I see here over a mod manager would be solved easily if the person understood how to install the mod /tool manually.

Again this is just my opinion ... But it seems to me relying totally on a mod manager is a road to disaster. I want to know every single thing a mod is installing, where it's all going, what I need

to remove if I uninstall the mod and what will be overwrote so I can make backups. A person really should have their whole Skyrim backed up and know every file in it. To me a mod manger is
just a bit to impersonal or vague. Leaving you believing it's the save all to installing mods. A person should learn how this is done manually and then use a mod manger as a convenience if they wish.
