mewfii Posted December 9, 2012 Share Posted December 9, 2012 Ok so I load a bunch of mods when I play...but I don't think it's mods that are a problem so I won't paste my list...I can figure out which mods are buggy and take them out...usually play until I get to Nipton to make sure things are working, I mean get though Doc M's Char builder thingy to make sure I have extra points at the vigor machine, right skill questions, like the added "Two headed ant" and "Two bears high-fiving", 6 traits instead of 3...though the unlimited one looked cool but it bugged up the game after I choose them...and then try to walk out without any problems after talking to Doc M two more times to get the extra items and exp...then I walk out. By this point if I have any Menu mods I either do them inside or keep everything vanilla until I either get outside or get to Sunny and start the tutorial...like I would do the "Toggler" skill activator if anything before I get to choose them, then everything else either outside or in the saloon after I talk to Sunny. Then when she gives me the gun, depending on which mods I have, I use FOOK to just get all ammo and all item mods and trick out the gun and choose my ammo clip type. Then it goes on from there to the Joe Cobb fight, I usually help and just kill him with Ringo and the town folk...then the big thing happens... Ok so I either go to Sloan or the Jail first, doesn't matter, I get to them both and help out both places, Sloan just to see if Krystal shows up at the shack there...I do have a version that gives me the model to choose at the beginning, but sometimes I check to make sure, Nexus version is just the model, there is another that gives the model and Krystal as a companion, so I just keep looking just to be safe...then go to the jail and blow a load.......SNERK!! So then off to Primm, help there, NCR outpost near the two person statue, talk to Knight and then help with the bug problem at the bridge, and then head off to Nipton, hear the Jackal guy yap his muzzle off then blow him to bits.......................then It's here where the problem occurs!!! So before every game I FONVEdit, BOSS, and validate through Steam and also defrag from Steam properties...then play...I can get all the above done in a short time, maybe some side missions, then I stop because it's the end of the day...I shut everything down and sleep...then the next morning comes. So then I do everything again...BUT...when I try and load my game from just the day before....BOOM GOES THE DY-NO-MEAT-TAY!!! I crash!!!!!!!!!! Is this because I'm adding and/or taking mods on and/or off and then running through FONVEdit and having other files taken out or deleted or undeleted and then that causes the game to have a different file system then my past save? Like I've had this same kinda problem like when I use the NV Config tool and I get to two settings, "Grids Loaded" or the "FPSClamp". What I'm thinking is the "GL" vanilla gets changed even if I don't use the config tool, I mean the value is the same but not the code itself when I play...basically if this is set to one value and then save, and then set it to a different value, crash on save...is the same type of thing happening if I run FONVEdit to many times? Like do a little in the game save exit, then FONVEdit, things related to the "Master" may get removed and refs may be undeleted and disabled, will that break my last save?
