gotgoodgamer007
Hello everyone! So, I recently installed skyrim se and when I played it, the gameplay was very smooth. Then, I decided to install mods and well installed too many mods together simultaneously after which the game became very laggy with the fps spiking up and down. I uninstalled every mod but the game was still laggy. I even reinstalled the game but that didn't fix it either. I have a gtx 750 ti. I know it's an old gpu but it should play the game smoothly. Any suggestions? Also, is it normal that skyrim se uses almost 6 gb of ram and at times, the entire available 2 gb of vram( and because of this my gpu crashed and I had to restart my pc to get the display back). It's strange to me because witcher 3 on 1080p low uses 1 gb.Thank you.
anjenthedog
After uninstalling mods, I *always* open the game, open whichever save I'm on, resave or create a new save, then clean the re-save or new save file using Fallrim tools to rid it of garbage scripts and references. These letover bits can cause slowdowns and CTDs. So, if you haven't already done so, I'd recommend installing fallrim tools. It's an offboard tool, like Bodyslide&Outfit Studio, or SSEDIT, etc. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5031 PS> make sure to watch the video on it's mod page for instructions on using it. It's really quite simple but can be intimidating for first time users. This isn't a guaranteed "fix", but it is a normal maintenance step that resolves at least *some problems when uninstalling mods.
