Deleted5042918User
I haven't played DAO in a long time and just did a clean install.I'm basically looking for mods that update and polish DAO like ALOT and MEUITM does for Mass Effect 1.I tried looking online but I would like suggestions from people still actively modding/playing DAO.The issue is basically will I need multiple mods?Is there one mod that does it all?If I have to use multiples what are the ones to use? Sorry if this has been asked and answered a million times already,I'm just looking for more current up to date mods/suggestions.I would like to thank anyone who helps me out in advance. Deleted5042918User
Thank you for the suggestion however that page is in Russian and I don't know Russian.I tried using a couple of tools to translate it to english including google translate but it causes an error.I ended up using JB3 Textures and it does improve how everything looks.I was looking for something more up to date as that mod was last updated in 2013.It still looks good though. theskymoves
The closest things to 'global' texture' replacers available for DAO are JB3, HDR Textures, and Elelith's Retexturing DAO. The first two can cause severe performance issues with the game, even with the 4GB/LAA patch applied. The latter mod is more performance friendly, but also markedly alters the aesthetic of the game's visuals. In lieu of those options, there are a number of issue-specific replacers for the game. Were I installing DAO today, I'd opt for something like Theta HDSome Dalish TexturesCoordinated Ferelden ArchitectureHazy SunCampfire Texture fix (from MRP)Blood Puddle RetextureHighRez Shale Retexture (Lightweight) (can't find a link to this... IIRC the modder was 'dalishious'. An alternate retex is Shale Retextured HD)Blighted Darkspawn texturesDalls Darkspawn (ogre texture ONLY)Dalls Dead and UndeadSubtle Gauntlet GhostsLady of the Forest HDHiRez Demon RetexturesPride Demon Origins to Awakening RetexShoulders for Commoner DressesA selection from MsBarrows Mabari Recolours (I usually use the German Shepherd tex)Minor Texture Fixes Additionally, I'd install tmp7704's Female Proportions FixhumanelfdwarfAnd, if I were using the unisex light armour options from the proportions fix, I'd also install Neutral Female Armor (Medium and Heavy) That plus a replacer for the vanilla hair texture (something like KH's Softer Hair and Beard), and a selection of chargen replacers (skin and eye textures/tints) takes care of most visual shortcomings, without dramatically altering the aesthetic of the game or degrading performance. ovinnik
Sadly, the Shale retexture by Dalishious is gone. I was looking for it too a few days ago. Edit, to contribute some actually working links: Desire Demon HD and Ogre HD by Catachrism (the author of Lady of The Forest HD, linked above) Noble Dress Overhaul by yixura That said, I also recommend just browsing the Models and Textures category. DA:O isn't Skyrim; there aren't that many mods out for this game, and you're bound to stumble upon something of interest to you that no one has thought of linking here. Deleted5042918User
Thank you for your suggestions as well srnk.Like with any game especially older ones I'm trying to use the least amount of mods to prevent the increased chance of problems.
