A word of advice about LOOT

Take its warnings seriously.

I had a 99% stable game with 155 mods. The only things that bothered me was recurrent CTDs when killing dragons. I was able to finish the game (all main quests, all major dungeons and sidequests completed), but only thanks to console commands that allowed me to manipulate certain situations with dragons.

Because of the quarantine, I decided to play Skyrim again. The scriptting wasn't nearly as heavy as my previous save and the bug was still there.

Everytime I used LOOT, it warned me about some plugins of the mod "Treebalance - Smithing Tree". I just assumed that it was bs and assumed the bug was caused by excessive scripting or animation issues.

Turns out it was the mod LOOT always warned me about that was causing CTDs.

So, the lesson is: LOOT is a great tool, take it seriously.

100% agree on LOOT. I also have a small twist on LOOT you may find interesting ...

When you're building your mod list most tend to add a few mods run LOOT and leave it at that. You add some more mods you run LOOT again to update your mod list. And so it goes every time you add new mods.
Here is the problem. What you're really doing is not asking LOOT to sort your load order to the best possible list. You're asking LOOT to sort your load order the best it can given the mods you already have listed.
This is not necessarily the best or smoothest possible list. To get the very most out of LOOT you need to delete your load order then run LOOT from scratch. Now LOOT will give you the best /smoothest possible list.

Interesting. I'll give it a try one day.
