3urz Posted December 10, 2012 Share Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) Basically, I just wanted to play through Oblivion with minimal mods, and I seem to blow it. I have SI as well as Spell Tomes. I've tried this several times, and I'm no expert, but I know pretty much the basics, and this SHOULD be working, seeing as how so many others seem to have luck jamming 20-30 mods into the game. My problem: Everything works great throughout the sewers until I go into Imperial City, where everythign still works fine with the exception of sometimes seeing these giant stars here and there that say "WTF I'm Missing A Mesh" or something like that. Although no other problems until I go into the Elven Garden Sewers, where I see (usually) one or two of these stars and the game crashes in either the first chamber or second one when I start to fight that crab thing. So, here's what I do...install game, use the official patch on it, install OBMM, Wrye Bash, and BOSS. I install OBSE and Oldblivion (run it through OBSE). I reinstalled Oblivion last night with the same mods and this time did OOO instead of Fran's (I didn't really like OOO though), and even ADDED the mods Map Marker Overhaul and Saddle Bags as well, and it ran smoothly. I also have a hunch that it's one of the optional add-ons to Fran's that's causing it. I think it's as you say, Maskar, I'm installing it incorrectly. Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? If you look at the two files of the mod here: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=oblivionmods.detail&id=268 I only have the first one, the actual mod main "Francesco'sLeveledCreaturesItemsMod.exe", not the "OptionalNewItemsCreatures" one. I've always wondered about this second file, but I've never seen any clear instructions anywhere on how to go about installing both, or if it's necessary at all. The thing is, when I use the installer for the ACTUAL mod and it takes me through the questions and options (asking whether you want MOBS or Lyrondor's, etc.), I always choose that I want the new creatures and items created by the mod. My question is: SHOULD I INSTALL the "Francesco'sOptionalNewItemsCreatures.exe" if I choose this option? And if so, how do I do it? I'm assuming just run it after I run the main installer?
