Animation Help

I have made an item that I want to play an animation (which is also made) and then once the animation is over it, a message gets displayed on screen. I have successfully had the item play the message and then run the animation, but I am unsure how to time it so that the animation ends before the message gets displayed. Any pointers would be appreciated.

 

Eventually I would like the whole sequence to end with a final idle animation.
