Mouse select button stops working

I don't know if this has to do with a mod, but it's aggrevating as hell, and I thought I'd toss it out there in case anyone knows what causes my mouse to stop working. I can't select anything with it and have to Quicksave and navigate out with arrow buttons. The left mouse button usually stops working after combat with an enemy ends. I really don't know what really triggers it exactly but it always happens more that once every session. Any ideas anyone?

If you have a wireless mouse, try changing the battery. A weak battery can cause functions to temporarily stop working.

If you are using a mod that changes any mouse function try disabling it. It may be interfering with a mouse driver program.

If you use any external program such as Microsoft's or Logitec's mouse setting program check to see that it is not setting that button to another function.

The Logitec program allows for a the function of a button to be changed just for one program - be sure it is not losing or changing that setting when the problem occurs.

If you have more than one mouse program - remove all except the one you want to use - they may be fighting over who controls that button.

If you use any third party mouse/keyboard program, try disabling that to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks bben46 for getting back to me so quickly. I didn't say in my original post, that I've had this problem for about 10 months and I'm using a "CM Storm - Sentinal" gaming mouse on Win7 64bit. I've disabled the second "HD Compliant" mouse driver MS likes to install in Device Manager, but that doesn't stop the failures. I don't have any mods that change the mouse settings and I'v tried updating my drivers, but no difference. My external app config settings seem okay, and I've even tried another wireless mouse (running out of spare mouse devices) but I still get left button failure. I'm beginning to think it may be my mobo drivers and or bios. What do you think about this?

Funny, but I've always had this PS2 mouse (3yrs) since my comp build, and I didn't have this problem for at least 1 1/2 years. Anyway, I've re- installed my original older drivers and am testing with this for now. If you have any other ideas please let me know. Thanks again.

EDIT: No luck getting this NOT to fail... still open to ideas.
