marcussig
hello everyone-- i've been playing oblivion for a very long time and i finally decided to make a mod.. don't laugh but i just wanted to make the Umbra sword more powerful. so i used the tes construction set and found umbra under the weapons heading and edited the attack rating to 125, saved the mod and restarted oblivion..i looked for umbra found her and got the sword and to my surprise the swords rating was right on...125...it worked perfectly.. now for the bad news..i installed another mod called dragon knight armor that includes the talon of the silverhawk longsword. this armor is very nice looking....its my favorite and the sword is cool looking also....my favorite however the attack rating is low so i made a mod to increase the attack to 125 like i did to umbra...i saved it again ticked the box for the mod when i started oblivion and went and found the armor and sword which is cloud ruler temple...however the attack rating never changes..its still at 23...i've redone this a couple of times now and still cannot get it to change. what am i doing wrong? can anyone tell me how to fix this..i really like this sword but i really want to be more powerful.... thanks marcus
armageddon818
Um...did you save the esp file? I dont know what you might have done wrong... it could be any number of little tiny things that might have gone wrong. Just go through very very very carefully into the mod's esp set it as the active file when you load the CS, look up the weapon, change the power level, Save, boot up, make sure the esp is loaded, try using a different save, and then see if it worked. LoginToDownload
Making .esps dependent on other .esps (like most all .esps are to Oblivion.esm) is tricky. I reccommend taking a look at this De-Isolation Tutorial or editing the Dragon Knight Armor mod directly.

marcussig
great news guys...i did it and it works perfectly. thank you very much for all your help. i did run into a problem with renaming the file tes4edit....i renamed the tes4view to tes4edit in the tes4 folder and not on the start up icons and i couldn't get it to edit anything but going to page 2 made me realize that i needed a desktop shortcut to add -edit to..after i figured that out it was a piece of cake... thank you for all your help guys marcus :thanks:
