How do I make a KETTLE the size of a HOME?

Well, the textures would look aweful if you scaled a kettle to anything over 1.5 or so but you can do that by duplicating a Static object, rename it to YourKettle/Cauldron or whatever you like, and then find the kettle/cauldron (most likely an Item) you want to use and Edit it, where it says Model, you'll want to copy that line (should say Clutter/Misc/*filename*.nif for an example).

Cancel out of the Item kettle/cauldron and then Edit your new Static, where it says Model go to Edit, then Edit again at the top and paste the line you've copied into there at the bottom of the browse window. Hit okay and you should have your Static kettle/cauldron. Then, place it into the world where you want it to be and either press ' 2 ' to bring up the scaling gizmo and pull any of the arrows to make it larger, or double-click on it and where it lists Scale - 1.0 change it to 5.0 or so to get an idea of how big it will be.

The problem will be if you plan to actually reach the top to throw your items inside, so you may have to think about a way to do that. If you choose an unoccupied Wilderness cell, you can rename that cell for easy reference, and then in the Cell View window right-click your cell, hit Edit and find where it says Encounter Zone and set that to NoResetZone so your items won't disappear.

Be sure you test it very thoroughly though, you don't want to stash all of your valuables only to have them gone when you come back to your uber sized kettle/cauldron. Good luck and I hope this helps!

If it's not a Static, it will be subject to Havok physics....you'll have a giant bouncing kettle of doom!

But yeah, general rule of thumb is to either make a new object, or duplicate one that you want to use so if you do make changes it won't affect anything but your new item. Scaling doesn't affect the object as a whole, once you've placed it in the world you'll be able to resize it. So you could have two of the same kettles side by side and resize one and it won't resize the other.

It's just easier to duplicate something that is already a static, or whatever you want to be as the end result. Models can be changed on most items without trouble, you just need to file path to be correct. Since they pack it all into a BSA it's difficult, so you snag it from an object that already has the file path on it.

I read through what you said and got it figured out. you duplicate it and conform the remade static to a blank specific model.. guts versus cosmetics.

but scale 5 was big enough to fit 50+ glass armors id say. haha --- also known as excellence. was no blur or anything misshapen about it.

Truly a hero you are - thank you.

More than likely it is colliding with something, probably a marker or another object in the water or the landscape itself. I would check this link if you haven't already. The ' F ' drop to floor function will only do so much and can be finicky, the only thing with that link is that they've changed under Manipulating Objects the X,Y,Z axis a bit. Instead of holding ' Y ' it's been changed to ' C '.
