Problems with shadows and grass

Hi everyone :), I'm new of this forum and I've used a lot of your graphics mods , Everything in the game is perfect and smooth, but the only thing that I can't get is the shadow on the grass, the shadows of trees are perfect but they appear under the grass, With others elements "rocks,ecc.." the shadows are fine. I've tried to change everything in the SkyrimPrefs but anything changed. Please Help... my graphic card: HD 5780. I don't know if it might be helpful.

I have this problem too. I just cant get shadows to appear on grass. It looks really silly when a bunch of trees in full sunlight doesnt cast any shadows on the grass.... does ANYONE know the cause and hopefully the solutions to not getting any shadows on grass? I have both bShadowsOnGrass=1 and bDeferredShadows=1.

Have you tried turning it off, mybe your mistaken in how much of visual difference it should make.

 

BTW I don't use most shadows, they are a hit to performance.

disabling most shadows and upping the textures to a more pleasing range so that the character's don't look aweful but land shadows, let alone grass?

 

Grass can kiss my wwell err you get the idea.

I have this same issue and it drives me nuts. I have bShadowsOnGrass=1 and bDeferredShadows=1, but still no shadows on the grass (they only appear on the ground under the grass).

 

Gamefever, you don't think it would make a big difference, but look at this screenshot: http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/185tv3d6gwgdsjpg/original.jpg Imagine how much worse this scene would look if the trees weren't casting those shadows on the grass. I think it has a massive effect. My Skyrim currently looks something like this, except the grass under the trees is just as bright green as it is everywhere else. It looks silly...

 

Help? Anyone?

That's a lot of grass. I don't think I have any location with solid grass like in that screenshot. The shadows should appear if you set the .ini property to 1. It should be that simple. If that's not working, something complicated is happening. I intentionally turn it off, but it does work if I enable it through the .ini. It's a huge frame rate drop if you have shadows on grass, and it can cause a very annoying flickering effect as you move around. When I enabled it, it seemed as if the game was trying to make shadows FOR the grass, not just ON the grass. With it off, it does look odd when there are no shadows on the grass, but there are shadows on the ground below the grass. I try to ignore it.
