LobsterRoast
So the other day I decided to finally download NVSE, but when I installed it, it caused unbearable lag. Ok, no problem, I'll install NVSR which didn't work. Looked it up, oh turns out i have to tweak the .ini which i did. helped for a little bit, but recently the game has gotten extremely laggy yet again, and i already did everything i could with NVSR to help. I'm pretty sure its not my computer because prior to installing NVSE, the game ran perfectly. TLDR; game laggy, literally nothing works. Also I honestly have no idea what my specs are, I didn't build this PC lmao Edited April 8, 2020 by LobsterRoast
dubiousintent
NVSE is a library of DLL routines which are only used when called by particular mods. Otherwise it does nothing. "Lag" or "Stutter" is caused by the video pipeline having to wait for "art assets" to be retrieved from the hard disk into the much faster system memory, and then into the even faster VRAM of the video card. So it is highly unlikely that NVSE itself is the cause of your lag. What is more likely is that NVSE is enabling some mod(s) to now employ things (such as running more NPC AI processes) which are causing that lag. As for your machine's specs, please see "How to Open the System Information Panel on Windows 10 or 8". If you are running Windows 10, it is now recommended that you try using the "New Vegas Tick Fix (NVTF)" mod instead. Then, we REALLY need to see a "load order" as produced by "LOOT"; to include the main game and DLC files. (Screenshots don't work so well for the purpose.) With modded games its the sequence, not merely the list of mods, which is the cause of many problems. LOOT's sort gives a good first approximation, correcting the most obvious issues and is sufficient for most players. You can make minor adjustments to the order and tell LOOT how to remember them. It's in the on-line documentation under "Metadata". Instructions on how to copy it's list for posting are in the "How to ask for help" article, and "Checklist Item #11' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. Please see the 'Vanilla Load Order' entry in the 'First Timer Advice' section; and the 'Common Game Problems' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. If the problem persists, then see either the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' or the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' sections in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.I recommend anyone read the entire "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article to understand the differences between this game and others you may have experience with; especially if this is your first attempt to play a modded FNV or it's been more than a year since you last did so. It is designed for someone who has never played a modded PC game before, so it tries to avoid making any assumptions, is kept "up-to-date", and covers years of "lessons learned".-Dubious-
