I want to bring back an attack direction setting I used from Warband

Hey, I'm a noob when it comes to modding but I want to bring back an attack direction setting I used throughout my playing of warband.

 

I still find myself playing as if this is the setting. It's basically dependent on where the opponent is relative to the centre of the screen, so if your opponent is on the right of the screen then you attack from the left and if the opponent is below you then you attack from the top, etc.

 

How difficult would this be to mod in? what would I need to do to make a mod like this?
