Trouble Loading Mods

I'm new at this and not all that great either. I recently went through and downloaded a bunch of mods that I liked using NMM. I downloaded SKSE as well because a couple mentioned needing it, and as far as I know installed that correctly. I've made sure the mods I want are loaded on NMM and the plugins enabled for them but I'm not sure about load order or anything like that. Mods like "Killable Children" aren't loading at all and I can't load any saved games either, doing so causes the game to hang on the load screen and never go past it.

Any help?

This. Don't do this.

My honest advice is uninstall every mod you've installed (except maybe SKSE and SkyUI) and start over while you're ahead. Install mods one at a time and go in-game and test that they're working and that there's no obvious problems they're creating. Use BOSS to sort your load order, and if you install more than one mod (besides the unofficial patches) that BOSS suggests Bash Tags for, grab Wrye Bash and start tagging/making Bashed Patches. If BOSS suggests for you to clean something via TES5Edit, do so; and if it suggests you grab a compatibility patch or a fixed version of a mod's plugin, do that as well.

The big thing Bash does for Skyrim is it merges leveled lists into the Bashed Patch. All those plugins you have with Delev and/or Relev tags suggested have a leveled list and if two or more mods affect the same leveled list, only the last version of it loaded will take effect.

With a merged list in your Bashed Patch, all potential points of conflict regarding these lists are resolved.

autosort with boss, then post your load order, the experts here might beable to pin point the prob

Well I've run BOSS, not sure if it auto sorts by itself or not.

As for Wrye Bash, all the listed mods say they have the tags in Wyre Bash.

BOSS does autosort - once you run it, the mods are sorted. That doesn't necessarily mean they will work though. BOSS doesn't know a lot of mods and will place those at the end for you to deal with.

Not every mod works with every other mod. Some are just not compatible with others. And, with over 20,000 mods the author cannot spend the next 2 years checking their mod against every other mod to see if it is compatable.

BOSS is not perfect, but it is the best we have.

The biggest noob mistake I see is people installing a bunch of mods all at once thinking it will save time - then spending all of the time they think they saved plus a lot more trying to find out why their game doesn't work

Basics

Mods are not always plug and play - they are not like commercial games where they have been thoroughly tested for months before being released. They are made mostly by gamers - just like you - who want to improve their own game. And may have been created yesterday with nearly no testing at all. Many are amateurs who are learning as they go, and will make mistakes - Please take this into consideration.

If your game is pirated - forget it - you will be fighting this forever as some mods just will not work. The game was designed to work with steam - and if no steam be prepaired to spend more time fighting the game than playing it. And, you WILL be banned here for piracy and for wasting our time.

Install ONE simple mod a new sword for example. Make sure it is not just a texture replacer (read the read me) then make sure it works in game - that shows that you have figured out the basics and can run mods in your game.

Now add mods one or two at a time. Always read any documentation to see if you need to do something special to install it. The simple ones 2 or 3 at a time, the complicated ones one at a time - TEST after each one Don't add any more until either that one works or you have completely removed it. A unremoved mod can come back to haunt you later.

After you have a dozen or so, run BOSS.

Make regular back ups of your data folder when things are working properly - once you have a problem, it's too late to back up.
