Crash to desktop after hardcore mode prompt

I seem to have resolved the issue by disabling the tag skill function in Game Settings Tuner. It is possible that it was conflicting with the Better Tag Skills mod; I cannot say for sure.

I have just reinstalled the game along with the following mods (in load order).

The game consistently crashes directly after making a decision in the hardcore mode prompt at the start of the game. Can anybody assist me in trying to find out why?

I'm also using NVSE (beta 12), the NVSE-compatible 4GB loader, stutter remover, NMC textures (small), Unified HUD and and other minor texture replacements. As far as I can tell, every mod is installed according to the given instructions.

Archive invalidation is activated. I've also tried using FNVEdit's master update function.
