nukafish
Have you tried right clicking Fallout: New Vegas (in Steam) under your library, properties, local files, validate integrity? Edit: for clarity Edited December 16, 2012 by nukafish

gaiman
Real sorry for begging, but its real annoying not being able to save, load or even exit the game properly. Can someone find it in their heart to help this poor soul?
SpartanVOO1
You should copy/paste load order from NMM or FNVedit.About a problem: it's from wrong installation order of the HUD mods. One of the best advices I found so far by Gribbleshnibit8:"Anyway, I have found that the bestinstall order is to install DarnUIfirst, and don't touch it. Theninstall mods like PN or other reallybig mods next. Once they're inyou can start adding on the othermods like MCM, Advanced Recon, etc. The last mods you shouldactivate for HUD are oHUD if youuse it, then uHUD. Whenevermake a change that changes ANYHUD element, fully uninstall thenreinstall oHUD and uHUD."

Thenryb
There is a "gray menu fix" esp available from MCM if you do not already have that. I think it is usually a problem with Project Nevada fighting MCM. PN tries to overwrite a menu file of MCM and you have to be firm and say "no" to that attempt.
