Texture Mods Won't Work - Help w/ Folder Structure?

I'm a tad confused.

So I changed my fallout .ini to allow for the updating of files. 0 to 1. Easy.

My ArchiveInvalidation.txt has the names, and paths, of my mod files. One per line.

And yes, those mod files, the .dds, are in those respective file paths.

Yes....the files aren't doing much. Mods aren't working. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I've read the tutorials and yet texture mods won't work.

What am I missing?

The archive invalidation folder goes in my steamapps/common/fallout3 folder, right?

and the mod files go in the Data folder, in said file path?

So confused..

Everything will go pretty much go into your MAIN Fallout 3 directory or the Data directory of that folder.

I have no idea what the structure is on your system.

For me using XP it is C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3

I'm having the same problem with my texture mods. I followed the readme to the letter, changed everything I had to but no go :\

I'm running Vista in Admin mode if that's part of the problem (as I know Vista is a problem in itself)

Edit: Figured out the issue. I was editing the Default ini in the fallout3 folder. You have to edit the INI in the My Games folder. Thanks much :3

Could you please explain to me EXACTLY what your settings are? I'm having the same problem.

I was having the same problems. Every mod I used that added a new item would only 1/2 work. i could use the item and see it but the texture would not cover the mesh in certain lighting... so while digging through a mod site i found a file that fixed the problem. how? i have no idea why but now i can see all of Vash's really good weapon mods.

Try using MalcomGTX's Tweeking It Out - INI mod

http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=256

along with fixing that problem it made my game run WAY smoother.

I just want to say Thanks to vashts1985 and MalcomGTX for improving Fallout 3

woops also adding FOMM will help with some of those problems
