Hello! Christmas is right around the corner and Im planning on upgrading my computer. Thing is, I dont know what to upgrade. I want to be able to run Skyrim smoother than I do now, but I dont know what would help more, a new cpu or a new gpu.

My specs are:

Windows 7, 64-bit

AMD Radeon HD 6670 1 GB DDR3

AMD Athlon II X4 650 processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz

10 GB RAM

Definitely a video card, depending on what you want to achieve performance wise. Any decent 2gb (ATI) card should be able to run Skyrim on Ultra, but if you want all the bells and whistles with high- res. textures and tons of mods you may want to look for a 3gb (ATI) card, not only for the extra vram but better GPU as well.

Any card in particular as far as 2gb or 3gb go?

For a 2gb card a 6970 or maybe a 6950, for 3gb a 7950 or 7970. Seeing that you have a 6670 I would be more inclined to go with a 7970 if you can afford it. Also the 89XX series have been announced to be out around February.
