Rennn
Does anyone know of any first person rpgs or adventure-type games? Anything with swords or sorcery is fine. Please try to limit answers to a Windows OS, though I won't object if you know of a DOS game that's absolutely amazing in first person, because I also use DOSbox. I could also try a PS2 game with an emulator, but that's like a 50/50 chance it'll even run, and it's an even smaller chance that it'll run smoothly. MMOs with first person animations are also acceptable, though if it's like DDO where your character and attacks just become invisible in first person, I probably won't be interested. Games that have a modded first person mode would also be great, if any exist. I've played:Dark MessiahThe Elder Scrolls seriesThe new FalloutsKing's Field 4Zeno ClashThe Void I'm also looking at Pathologic and Shadow Tower Abyss, but both are dated and from what I hear, very unforgiving. So I'm not sure if I'll get those, but I appreciate feedback on either of those games as well. I know about Two Worlds 1, but in melee you're forced into 3rd person so that pretty much ruins the point of having a first person mode imo, since that removes the immersion. Rennn
http://www.gog.com/gamecard/legend_of_grimrock there's a nexus for it I've seen it, and it looks interesting. When I play first person games though, it's usually for the immersion, and I'm not sure I'd be able to be immersed in a grid-based game.
DarthFalcon
Since you enjoyed the new Fallouts, you might enjoy the first two Deus Ex games, they involve first person combat and i personally (some would disagree) consider them to be RPGs, or at the least they have RPG elements. I've been searching for games like this myself lately lol, i think maybe the early games in the Gothic series have first person mode? I seem to remember reading about people being upset the newest one, Arcania, doesn't have a first person view. It's quite well set up too, because you can see your legs and arms. However, I didn't find it terribly interesting.
Beriallord
Kings field 1 and 2 for the PS1 are also pretty good. Kings Field 2 especially. I enjoy those kinds of games just for the immersion and exploration. King's Field 2 (US) is definitely better than The Ancient City for PS2. Also there is Eternal Ring for the PS2. Its pretty much a King's field game, although its not quite as good. This is sorta a first person RPG/Dungeon crawler. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pms24_aFL-k Its a really brutal game, (harder than Dark Souls), and even more unforgiving, I never actually finished it. It has a lot of old school RPG elements. The battle system is a little more complex than its made to look in the video, later on you get team attacks and defensive abilities, but so do the enemies. I've played King's Field TAC, and I've finished Eternal Ring. I found KF4 to be much better than Eternal Ring, though I enjoyed both. I've considered getting one of the KF games for the PS1, but there's really no way to save my progress since I don't have a PS1.

And you can play the games in HD. If you get the game, use Imageburn to create an ISO file from the disk, then run the ISO file on the emulator. Loads much faster.
