Random Encounters Ideas

A gruffy beggar carrying a sword and a dishelved man behind him approach you. One man makes neighing noises while the other asks you, "Sir, sir! I seek something of most grave importance, will you join me in my quest?"

>>No.

The man sighs and carries off, calling you a sod. Nothing happens.

>>Yes, what is it you're searching for?

"I seek the Holy Grail! I am Sir Arthur and this is my trusted steed–"

From there, they follow you around (like the annoying guy) constantly bugging you to help them in their quest. If you take them where they tell you to go, you'll encounter a bunch of supermutants and probably be overwhelmed. If you win (or more likely, cheat), you can find a useless cup among their treasure.

Killing Arthur and his steed gets you negative karma and a unique sword melee waepon (only slightly stronger than Chinese Officer). Basically, my idea is just a fun encounter that screws you over if you agree to helping them.

If I wanted to use VA, I'd just rip em' from Monty Python, lol.

Is it possible to have the game randomly assign different settings for your character's face? I'd also want to do an encounter where a plastic surgeon says he can make you appear nicer to others, and if you accept his small fee, he'll make you more attractive. If you agree, I'd like the game to randomly assign random attributes to your face settings (brow, chin, hairstyle, hair color); likely making you ugly.

I've got an idea for minor quest line I'd like the create:

Angels of Death

You come across the body of a fallen woman in the wasteland. Only, she isn't dead, but so badly crippled, she would perish in the heat after a few more days of agony. She begs you for two things: To end her suffering, and to seek vengance on those who did this to her.

If you oblige her, she will give you a holotape her husband made, part of a series of breadcrumbs he left as a group of Raiders took him and a dozen other captives from place to place, each night thinning their ranks with barbaric, sadistic games.

But there is more to this story, and these Raiders, these Angels of Death, have an agenda beyond what most could ever comprehend.

Sounds rather interesting, tracking raiders through the wasteland *you find their camp, the remains of the fire are still warm, you are getting close*

Oh no.

Think twisted.

Think 'Saw' twisted.

So more like, you find the remains of a slave, their innards, which are liberaly spread around the camp and seem to be attached to some sort of mechanical device, are still warm, you must be getting close.

Some random encounters of children being abused by mutants/waste scum/whatever, and then you can rescue them.

Random encounters of people actually living out in the wastes, with random buildings for shelters and so forth.

Dogs or other baddies attacking randomly generated people.

Most importantly, RANDOM DYNAMIC QUESTS!! For instance, a war against the mutants that is constantly going on in the game world. If you kill one, they lose one from their force. If you destroy a weapons cache of theirs, they DO NOT have access do those particular weapons ever again. Something that spans the entire map and can be dynamically affected for the entire game's duration. Something that changes every New Game, with a different faction.

In fact, now that I think about it, maybe the factions should have random alliances and wars every time you start. Imagine the Slavers working together with Ghoul extremists to raid/destroy human settlements, and YOU can affect the outcomes by surgically striking key installations, hideouts, ammo dumps, supply depots, or just by eliminating people.
