Some thoughts on Tranquility Lane

As far as I can tell, the "good" solution is to

kill everyone and leave Dr Braun in there to slowly go (more) insane from his isolation

. There's really nothing better you can do?

You can't even inform old lady Dithers that

you've successfully accessed the failsafe computer after you do

. The only dialogue options afterward are

"Where is it?" "I didn't find anything", "You're crazy or lying", and "Leave me alone."

Of course, if you did tell her what you

read on the computer,

she might change her mind about using it.

After

the exit appeared, and Braun complained that he was powerless against me now

, I tried

whacking him with the rolling pin

, but

he insta-killed me despite having just told me he was powerless

.

When you've gotten Dad out of the place, you finally get a chance to talk to him for the first time since he left. There's a glaring omission in the dialogue options. He asks "Why did you follow me out of the vault after I told you to stay put?" and nowhere in the dialogue options do you get to say "Well, when you left they murdered Jonas, interrogated Amata, and tried to kill me!" Instead, all you can do is whine petulantly with things like "How could you just leave me behind without telling me where you were going?"

Yes, I know I already warned about spoilers, but call me extra-cautious. Anyway, some people may want to go through the Tranquility scenario more than one time, and I only described one version.

Either some serious mod work or a patch is needed, because any character, even the savior of the wastes, is not going to take any s*** from him after what they've been through. I think a good conversation choice would be "Hey dad, I nearly took a bullet back in the vault because of you! How about an apology for the stuff you pulled?"

On the subject of the Vault 112 inhabitants, there probably is nothing you can do for them. 200 years in those loungers has probably aged and weakened them to the point that they would die if taken out of them. The only actually "good" ending might be putting them out of their misery, but the possibility to kill off Braun with the computer, tell them about everything, and give them a chance to live in a free virtual simulation would be a nice option too.

Seriously, if it were really me there, I might have chosen the non-Chinese invasion option, then let Braun resurrect the people after he's had this last little game with them, he'd let me leave, and then once I was out I'd have disconnected Braun's pod from the simulation, perhaps shutting off his life support, and left the victims alone to live in their blissful ignorance. Old Lady Dithers might request euthanasia, but the others seem happy enough in their illusion, and with Braun out of the way, there wouldn't be any endless torture. I mean, you can get the Overseer's office password out of the storage room if you hack one of the doors, but the game won't let you do anything to Braun's pod even when you're standing right in front of it.
