jimwaldo
I'm really interested in the command aspect of battles but I find myself reverting a lot of times to F6 and letting Sgt's take control. This is mainly because they seem to be able to give more advanced orders than I can. eg:"Protect left flank/right flank""Cavalry Archers skirmish whilst firing etc" Am I missing something? Our current commands seem really basic, we either put them in position, get them to hold their ground, advance, or charge... and with charging They seem to go off and charge in any and every direction they want. I am in no way a modder and have literally no skill in it and this idea may be more for the Dev's and a major system change. I'm wondering if there is some way for the command banner, when selecting movement/action locations could change - like during a siege where you get the interact icon. By selecting a formation/action a menu wheel option of "charge left flank" "charge head on" "charge right flank" "advance whilst firing" "retreat whilst firing", you get the idea. Or are there ways to do this already and I jsut haven't figured it out yet  (I do use Enhanced Mission RTS Camera during some battle but still more advanced command abilities would be nice) Edited April 20, 2020 by jimwaldo
SteelBlood2
Are you only using the Charge command? If you order troops to advance instead they should fire while advancing, same is true for the fall back command while retreating. If they are infantry, they'll advance with their shields up too. Might need to be in shieldwall for that though, not sure. As for charging flanks, I think the AI might just move the group to the flank, and then issue the charge command.
