Having a real hard time modding.

Well, I'm desperate.

Haven't played FO4 in a while, and recently I've started meddling with some mods. Wanted to add Enhanced FX, nuclear winter, gas masks; ballistics, combat and movement overhaul, camping, etc etc... and while some mods do work (mostly npc and weapon/armor mods) , some don't work as intended and others don't even work at all, like enhanced FX...
For example, Nuclear Winter has the items but no features whatsoever, no weather, no hud, no mechanics... True frags doesn't work, Vivid fallout all in one doesn't work either... I'm just... frustrated!

And it baffles me because I have everything set up accordingly! Fallout4Customs and Fallout4 inis are correctly modified, I have F4SE, etc... so... I don't know...?

Some mods need the MCM (Mod Cofiguration Menu) to be able to work. MCM is a menu where other mods appear to be able to change settings. And what do you mean with "Enhanced FX"? Enhanced Lights & Effects? How do you know some mods like the Vivid Fallout AIO don't work?

If you have the latest version of the game (v1.10.163) then you don't need to change any ini files any longer.

It's easy to test mods, just testing the game with them on and off... the textures weren't changing for me, neither the lighting. And yes, Enchanced Lights and Effects, the one with the little candle improvements as well? It's still the same as always, nothing changes.

I have the latest version of the game and also MCM. Still, some mods aren't working! I tried with NMM (the community one) and now I'm trying with Vortex. . . While vortex did make Vivid Fallout AIO work (the textures now apply), Nuclear Winter still doesn't, neither does Enhanced Lights & FX. . . I'm clueless.

If the mods aren't working, maybe it has something to do with version of the game. There have been some changes as of Nov'19 update. Including the switch of the header version for the plugins from 0.95 to 1. Existing mods updated in the CK will not run on older game executable, unless the header version is changed back. Newly created mods may not work at all with older executable, even with changing the header version. Now for updated game, older mods may or may not work, I can't confirm that myself. I propose you try https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42497?tab=description. This is mainly for people still using the older executable, but should work on new one, and make it skip the version check for the header. The only requirement is F4SE, which you already have.

Seriously no one has an answer?

To what question? If the question is why your game doesn't work then you're the only one who can answer the question. You 'started meddling with some mods' and now the game doesn't work? So, guess where the problem lies. Start with 'unmeddling', try the game and add mods as you go along but only a couple at a time so that you can keep track of which mod may cause problems.

If you add dozens of mods in one go and things don't work then the main problem lies with you and there's nothing we can do about that. So, there's your answer right there.

Not really adding a dozen mods in one go. I started with weapons, armor and settler mods, and they've always worked just fine. Mods that include mechanics are the one giving me troubles, such as NAC and Nuclear Winter. I get it I didn't come across as friendly on my first posts and I wholeheartedly apologise for it, but please don't be a smartass yourself either.
