QaxeIsKaze
Generally, I dislike using my voice in quests. I have several reasons but without going into "why", I just avoid using voice when possible. With that in mind, can anyone offer up interesting alternative ways to guide our players through a quest? So far I've used: 1. The courier2. A journal in a dead-guy's pocket (and a "paper trail" of journals and letters to guide players to the goal) Any thoughts on what I might try next? Currently, I've got a "rescue mission" quest I'm building. It may require SOME dialogue, but if I could do it without 1 word, I'd be happier. Any ideas would be welcome. At the moment I can't recall any speechless quests in the standard game.

KHShadowrunner
I like to pretend I'm playing "back in the day" and just rely on dialogue via text to portray the quest". It's kind of weird, sure. But I'm not going to let the lack of people talking ruin the epic adventure I had planned :)
DreamKingMods
Could the person to be rescued have dropped a trail of items of some sort...? Or a trail of spilled blood. A trail of already-harvested plants. Footprints. An abandoned campfire. A flock of birds circling over something.
QaxeIsKaze
Circling birds! Wow! If only we could control the flight patterns of birds...and add footprints. I like the way you think. Trail of stuff is totally doable too. There is even a "bloody rag" item in the CK to be used. Thanks! KHShadowrunner, could you elaborate on what you mean by "text"? You mean books and letters, or so you mean subtitles in the actor dialogue, or something else? For starters, I wrote a couple letters between 2 of the actors that the player can read or choose to ignore. But these could easily become quest items. Thanks for responding! BigKevSexyMan
You could just have a random dead body drop out of the sky in front of the player at a somewhat random moment. Something more seriously though, you could have a dead body in the middle of town with guards and people around it investigating.
