Mausava
Why in hell is Vortex not deleting the files from the god damn mods folders when I uninstall them???? now I'm afraid to delete them myself because the same might happen, but now vortex will have all the mods I deleted listed, and now the game wont run at all without ANY mod installed. BigBizkit
One thing after the other: How did you uninstall the mod? How are you verifying that they are not uninstalled? Note that a folder might be left behind that does not, in fact, contain the mod any longer. Most importantly: are you launching the game via the play button in the top left as the instructions are saying? Can you show me a screenshot of your Dashboard? Mausava
I didn't uninstalled at first, all was working fine but the mod was having some issues updating it's settings, so I pasted the files from where vortex has all the mods directly to the game directory, then I deleted the "folder manged by vortex" thingy to attempt installing it manually, (before you say that's what wrong please read the whole thing) can't remember if it was after or before the update, I was doing all at the same time, after which the bannerlord launcher just immediately started crashing, I thought maybe it was the mod at first so I uninstalled it, meaning I deleted the whole folder from the game directory, still crashing, I uninstalled every mod, still crashing, and that's when I saw it wouldn't go away from the load order list, I reinstalled it via vortex and then uninstalled it several times and it wont go away.Yes the folders are empty, that's what I was referring to, why are still there in the game directory even if they are empty? Should't vortex delete them as well? Also, talking about mod not updating setting e.i. not being able to write to the files, I would like to know why is it that when vortex installs the files to the game directory, all the files appear with their icons behind a lock icon? They are not read only so what's up with that, when the files are in the vortex folder they don't have that icon, only when thy're moved, it's been causing problems with mods not updating settings, which is what drove me to this problem in the first place.I'm on windows 7 btw.Oh I forgot to mention that the whole time I was doing this I only ever used the play button on vortex. Mausava
So yeah just checked the game integrity via steam, no mods whatsoever installed according to vortex, ignoring all the extra random folders here an there inside the game directory that are manged by vortex, the game wont start. BigBizkit
Ok, so to rectify this: make sure all mods are uninstalled inside Vortex. Please show me a screenshot of your mods in vortex when you have done so. After that: Go to your Modules folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules) and delete every folder except: CustomBattle, Native, Sandbox, SandBoxCore, Storymode. Now that should fix the launcher crashing. However: Please going forward do not manually tinker (especially overwrite) with files deployed by Vortex. That is a recipe for bringing things out of sync. Next, please read the instructions on the load order page. You are supposed to run the game via the play button in the top left and not via the launcher. Please have a read of this article: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Modding_Bannerlord_with_Vortex And as a general tip: If the launcher does not start, that's usually because it's trying to load a mod that requires another mod that's no longer installed. The launcher uses its own logic though and, as I said, you should not try to start the game via the launcher unless you want to play Multiplayer. EDIT: I only now read your edit that you were using the play button. Are you sure you are on the latest version of Vortex? Can you please go to C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\plugins and see if there is a Bannerlord plugin? (There shouldn't be).
Mausava
Omg, I just found a random loose .xml file I didn't see before, I must've misplaced it at some point, it's now gone, sorry about that, but if you can I would still like to know the other stuff I asked about. Why is it that when vortex installs the files to the game directory, all the files appear with their icons behind a lock icon? They are not read only so what's up with that, when the files are in the vortex folder they don't have that icon, only when thy're movedWhy are folders still there in the game directory even if they are empty? Should't vortex delete them as well? They just clutter up the directory.
BigBizkit
Ehm, would you be so kind as to address my questions? I am trying to help you but it's getting increasingly difficult. It seems like you are not on the latest version of the extension, which is one of the reasons for your issues. The new version does actually remove empty folders automatically. Mausava
Sorry, I didn't see questions per se, but I have the latest version of vortex, installed just today like I mentioned before, and the extension for bannerlord is 0.2.1, that being said I fixed the mod not going away now, the problem was random loose .xml file that was directly inside modules, not inside a folder inside modules as it should be, so it was my fault, again sorry, also thanks for letting me know the new version does remove folders, good to know, as to my question about the lock icons, I guess it's a different topic, should I start a different one to ask that?edit: and I guess I should mention that since the deleted mod is now gone from the list the game is working now. BigBizkit
I'm not sure what lock icons you are referring to. Can you share a screenshot?
