Also please use the search button to discover the hundreds (well there are several) of threads on soul gems. There was one on where to get grand soul gems very recently. In a nutshell, apart from Vivec and Almalexia, the highest souls are Ascended Sleepers and Golden Saints. Note that the named Ascended Sleepers 'Dagoth' are less valuable, though the named Golden Saint 'Staada' is okay. You can also get the best (rechargeable) soul gem by completing Azura's quest.
