mhahn123
Before industrialization the main occupation of people, for ALL civilizations, has been agriculture. Without a reliable source of food, no empire could fuel it's troops or civilian population for long. Cyrodiil is vast, boasting 9 fortified cities and an immense population. Many of the popular mods like Better Cities and Crowded Roads only serve to increase said population. We see food in the homes, Inns and vendors sell it everywhere you go. Yet where are the farms that should be dotting the landscape in every direction? Where does all the food come from to feed that population? Settlements of Cyrodiil is an attempt to answer those questions. While there are a good many farming mods out there, in my opinion it's still too few, there really aren't enough crops to supply such a large nation. We have plenty of holes still left to fill.......... As stated in a previous thread Settlements of Cyrodiil will be a series of Farm, Settlement, Village mods that all utilize one resource pack. It started as an effort on my part to rescue abandoned mods that were never finished, and finished mods that needed patching and were left to their fate by the creator. It has grown since I started the project and now includes some original works by myself. The Settlements of Cyrodiil Resource pack which can be found here, will be a required master for all of the subsequent plugins. It is comprised of a mixture of free to use modder resources, many custom resources created by myself, and some assets used strictly with permissions from their authors. The first release titled Regional Farms and Inns can be found here. This plugin replaces many of the bland vanilla Farmhouses and Inns with re-textured versions. Now most farms and inns are built with wood and stone common to the region they are located in. Harluns Watch for example now has farmhouses built with native Cheydinhal style wood and stone. Also replaced where they were already existing are stables, sheepfolds, and wells. I used nothing but 100% vanilla textures, although some of them are tweaked a good deal. Much more to come in the future as I have at least two other projects that are very near completion. Enjoy.
