Creation Kit Creates New Objects Rather Than Overrides

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to edit some objects (ArmorAddons) in Fallout 4 Creation kit as part of an ESP that I created in FO4Edit. These ArmorAddons are overrides of existing armors.

However, after editing and saving these ArmorAddons in Creation kit, I find that these objects are no longer overrides but rather new objects in FO4Edit.

Has anyone else come across this issue before? And if so, what am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming it works the same way as Skyrim's creation kit, when you finish editing and go to close the Armor Addon, do you say "yes" and it closes, or "no" and it asks you another question? For Skyrim users, yes immediately creates a new object and leaves the original alone. No prompts you to confirm that you want to change the object you're editing, which may affect other objects in the game.

I ended up finding a way to change what I needed to change in FO4Edit. Crisis averted!

Still though, it would be good to know why the Creation Kit isn't working for me. (And no, there is no 'yes' or 'no' prompt when you want to edit an existing object in the Creation Kit, unlike in Skyrim)
