ViralDust
Hey all, A while ago, I had this nifty plugin called Quick Messages or something which shortened the time for which each message was displayed in the corner - useful when there's lots of them queued up. Now I can't find that plugin, and I'm wondering if someone could tell me where I could find the variable that handled this, in FNVEdit or something. Also, would it be possible to make a script or something that changed the display time based on the message length? Probably not realistic, but I ask because for the most part it's nice when they're quick, but I have mods that have messages which are quite long, like quest info and stuff instead of markers, and I can't read it all before it's gone, and there's no message log in Fallout... Anyway, any help appreciated!
Xaranth
The length of time a non-interactive message is displayed is controlled by the Display Time property in the message form. I'm fairly certain you can't modify Form properties with a script. I KNOW you can't without NVSE. In FNVEdit the property is "TNAM - Display Time" and the value is in seconds. I don't know if it takes a float or a short.
ViralDust
Ah, great, that helps, thank you. Do I have to hunt through my mods to change these values all separately, though? Is there some global thing that would affect all messages?
Xaranth
I'm afraid it's one at a time. :(
