Triumph675
Hello, I`m a huge Fallout fan, have played through both 1 and 2 numerous times. I'd say my favorite is the second one, well besides restarting the game and doing that lame tribal intro. :wallbash: Also a member of No Mutunts Allowed forums and nma follower. I've also played through both Oblivion and Morrowind, starting numerous new characters, on my 360. When I heard Bethesda was making Fallout 3 I was amped. I bought for the 360 and although I loved it, it's definately missing a lot. :wallbash: I found this site and see a lot of you feel the same way. And after reading through a few posts, I realize that this game is meant to be played on the PC with mods. I found the "Welcome to the Wasteland" mod on here, and thought to myself that I need to buy Fallout for the pc. However my computer is not the greatest, because the last game I was playing on here was company of heros. As I wondering if you guys could tell me if this will run it. Also this game looks good on the xbox most of the time, is it better a lot better on an average pc? I`m not the greatest tech guy, but I have replaced the videocard/memory on all of my computers. Right now I am running a Celeron 2.53 GHz1.25 GB of cheap ramRadeon X1600 I`m guessing that any problems are going to be with the processor itself, which means I will probaly need a new oomputer?? I hope not :thanks:
Smosh
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest A good place to start which will give you an approximation of just where you stand in regards to how well your PC will run a game. AdamV
I'd say it should handle it. My rig (8600gt/x2 [email protected]/2gb of ram) runs it fine on 1600x1200 with high texture settings but no aa/af/hdr. On 1280x960 it runs smooth at at 4x aa/af, medium settings with hdr. Looks better the second way but AA causes vats to lag alot :(
Triumph675
I checked out the system req test and it says I fall the medium.... I might just buy it and try it out. I really want to get into modding with the SDK, so I`ve got a few weeks to get a new computer than.

I hope not :thanks:Well, Im running an nvidia gt card and 2 gigs of ram. my downfall is processor as well, just running a sempron. so if you have at least that equivelant then you should be ok.. it lags a bit in big fire fights but other than that, no problems. Triumph675
I`m going to just go out, get it and see. Hopefully it's not $50 down the drain, or I`ll try returning it. I seen some pretty ugly screenshots with with the Graphics turn low, is it really that bad?
Uzibeatle
Well, to my eyes , it ain't so purty with settings below high. I've seen screen shots of lower end settings and yah, they are fugly. Textures, even on Ultra High like I use here, arnt' all that hot really. I use a mod I found that someone uploadedto doll up ground textures. But on the plus side, what you would see on medium or low settings is no worse than what xbox users would see on their TV screens. So there. I say grab it since you have the hots for it. You wont' be able to sleep at nights not knowing now. Your doomed. Give in.

Sheresh
Here's a good rig that I built myself for about 700$ shopping around on newegg. It runs EVERYTHING, very few games can choke up my rig, and even then not really all that badly at all. Oblivion and like Crysis are the only games so far that I've tried that can really choke it up on Ultra High settings at 1440x900 (widescreen) and even then it's not bad at all, barely noticeable. Anyways here's my setup Video - Nvidia Geoforce 8800GT 512mb (Non BFG/OC version)Memory - 2GB Corsair Dual Channel Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 2.66mHz Motherboard - Asus P35 (I think, cant remember the whole name, not the best board, but it performs quite well for gaming)Power Supply - 550W (Pick your brand, I think I went with arctic or something like that)Case - Antec Sonata 3, I like this case alot, cooling options are quite good and is quite a spacious case for upgrading.Drive(s) - Western Digital 200G (7200 RPM)/Sony DvD-CD RW Again all in all not the best rig by far, easily upgradeable, performs VERY well, and all for about 700$, hard to beat. I'm thinking about upgrading my board and probably to a new case but aside from that I am VERY VERY VERY happy with my gaming rig. I run Fallout 3 on Ultra High settings at 1440x900 and it RARELY chokes up, really only when I'm out in the wasteland in first person and even then I only notice a slight, very very quick "slow" for a split second, barely noticeable. But yea I would suggest upgrading your card and processor along with your memory. It will make the biggest difference in your gaming. Probably do the RAM first, then the CPU, then the Card.
