Sheralynn
What I would like is an Imp who would just follow me around. Not as a companion to interact with but just staying near me. So when your roaming through the province you would see it following you. When you ride a fast horse it cant keep up of course, but then after a while it would pop up again. It wouldnt follow you into dungeons, caves or forts, but would be happily wait for you outside, flapping around. It wouldnt help you fight. It keeps its distance whenever there's danger and show up again when the cost is clear. Thats basically it. What would make it super-B: - if you could call it if you want and it would land near you or even on your arm or shoulder - if you could even feed it, reward its loyalty and it in turn would show some sign of gratification. cats purr, i dont know about imps though - if it would be a female imp. all imps in Cyrodiil are little males, a little female would make it really special - if when it returns from a time to time it would bring you a little treasure. Imps absolutely love shiny things and being mischievous as they are they steal and collect random things like silver tableware, gemstones and jewelry. When an Imp brings you some of its treasure, be it a spoon or a enchanted ring, its means you really earned its affection - if you could name it  I really havent got a clue how doable this would be but if someone would be able to create something like this he or she would earn my eternal and everlasting gratitude! ;D If you have seen "Dances With Wolfes" (with Kevin Costner remember) think of White-Socks, the wolf that follows him around etc. This would be a white-socks Imp. myrmaad
Until someone does this for you, would you be satisfied with an imp who would just follow you around? Because that part is done and already in a mod. CM Partners
Maigrets
I can make you a stand alone Imp companion with some of those things. It will have commands to follow or stay so if you don't want it following in dungeons etc you tell it to wait. If you don't want it to fight I can make it so it will run away if enemies are around and will return when the coast is clear. You will be able to summon it and I can give it any name you want. To make a female would require new meshes unless someone has already done this. I haven't checked that out. The other parts regarding feeding and purring etc require more scripting than I can do, but if you're interested let me know either here or PM and I'll see what I can do for you.

Sheralynn
O wow Miagrets, that would be fantastic! The basic idea behind it was to have a companion that is self-reliant (stays wild) and doesnt interfere with what Im doing. Most I've tried failed because of the interfering part. Like one wolf I had that cleared out every dungeon before I even had a chance to get to goblins. lol So staying away from fights would be the main feature. (Or if it would just be ignored by other creatures) Then it also doesnt matter if it comes along inside dungeons. Optinal come/stay commands would be appreciated to make it a choise though. I understand that other characteristics and behaviors are more complicated and probably time-consuming so I think I should leave those decisions to you, if thats ok. And really, having a following imp would be great already. I'll have to think about a name! ;D @myrmaad: Ive searched the mods several times but couldnt find an Imp. I am overlooking something? He comes with the base mod. And actually I would like to apply the AI for your idea (if this happens) to two custom flying small creatures. Here are pics of "my imp" companion, which comes included with the CM partners base mod. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/oblivion/Bliv120128.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/oblivion/Bliv120129.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/oblivion/Bliv120125.jpg
Maigrets
Sheralynn and myrmaad, The Imp would have the same AI and packages as my other creature mods, excluding Spirit Wolf. He has different scripts because he's a summoned creature not a full companion. Anyway, choosing a name is no problem. It can be added anytime and if you're familiar with the CS it's easy as well. There's also a console code to change names in game. The new name will stay unless you de-activate the mod, then you have to do it again. My system (borrowed with permission from delphinus who made Fenrir the Wolf) is simple. Activate the imp to tell him to stay and again to follow. He will retain his normal wild imp idle animations in wait mode so he doesn't just hover in one place. To stop him fighting when you don't want him to is just a matter of adjusting his confidence and aggression. I will give him the ability to defend himself in case he is attacked for any reason while he's following for example. He will get a summon spell. I can have it added as soon as you start the game or add it to an object you have to find. I add it to objects for my released creatures so the user HAS to go find him. Otherwise I may as well just dump him in the Market Place. Depending on whether you want this as a private mod or released I can probably find a nice texture. I think there are resource mods around with permission to use them. I'll start on it tomorrow or the next day and if you can let me know how you want the summon spell added and a name that would be good. They can be done anytime.I might even be able to do the purring. I have some cat sounds and I think one is a purr. If it doesn't sound weird that is. Maigrets.

Sheralynn
Thanks Maigrets and myrmaad for your replies. Those screenshots look great. That is unmistakably a companion imp. I must have overlooked it. Anyway, choosing a name is no problem. It can be added anytime and if you're familiar with the CS it's easy as well. There's also a console code to change names in game. The new name will stay unless you de-activate the mod, then you have to do it again. Ok Ive recently figured out how to do console commands (couldnt get rid of the Olroy Cheese in my inventory) so thats no problem. Sounds good. Defending itself when attacked seems logical yes. Just as long as it tries to avoid fights whenever it can, tries to stay neutral. Making it an essential being may also be a good idea? He will get a summon spell. I can have it added as soon as you start the game or add it to an object you have to find. I add it to objects for my released creatures so the user HAS to go find him. Otherwise I may as well just dump him in the Market Place. Depending on whether you want this as a private mod or released I can probably find a nice texture. I think there are resource mods around with permission to use them. It doesnt have to be a private mod and I agree with binding it to an object/place. It adds a bit more and is also more in line with the whole role-playing thing. As a suggestion: Perhaps the place where you can find it would be its 'nest'? There could be some small bones and a bunch of feathers, like it has been eating some birds there or something. Together with some "shiny objects" it has been collecting. Maybe theres a chest or covered pot. "Tarana's Home" or Tarana's pot" lolAgain these are mere suggestions, dont know how doable it is. I'll start on it tomorrow or the next day and if you can let me know how you want the summon spell added and a name that would be good. They can be done anytime. Ild like to name it Tarana. It means "music" I read on wikipedia that "imps are sometimes described as fond of music". I might even be able to do the purring. I have some cat sounds and I think one is a purr. If it doesn't sound weird that is. hahaha! I like the purring. It fits too imo listen to this for example http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=19797 Is that the sound of a happy imp or what! ;D It wouldnt be constant though? That would be a bit to much. Otherwise I really like it. :thanks: Im looking forward too it!
Maigrets
OK Imp fans, hello Graewolph, I've made a start. Thanks for the link to that purr sound. I have a few like it. It wouldn't be constant only part of an idle animation. :whistling: Sheralynn : Since you were the first to request it the imp's name will be Tarana and if anyone wants to change it I'll leave instructions for anyone not using the CS. I make all my creatures Essential. I don't like them to die and besides if they do the only way to get them back is to deactivate and reactivate the mod. A nest with feathers, bones and trinkets is simple to do. I'll think of a location safely out of danger. Another question - do you want it normal imp size or a little smaller or bigger. For example either OOO or MMM has implings which are about the size of a large parrot. I use both mods but I'm not sure which has the impling. MMM I would think. I'll request permission to use one of their textures. It shouldn't be a problem. Maigrets.
