Request for semi-companion Imp

Another question - do you want it normal imp size or a little smaller or bigger. For example either OOO or MMM has implings which are about the size of a large parrot. I use both mods but I'm not sure which has the impling. MMM I would think.

 

I'll request permission to use one of their textures. It shouldn't be a problem.

Might be a couple of days. I've decided to write a little story and give her a little character. Pretend it's a girl imp and that the species is androgynous and both sexes look alike.

 

I've been reading up on them, not that there's a lot of info since they don't really exist....as far as we know. :unsure: :biggrin:

Thanks, yes. I do love animals and I use animal companions now rather than NPC's. At least the pets do what they are told without me having to intervene. :biggrin:

I have something like 6 or 7 pets in my game at one stage or another. One day I might shift them all into one mod to cut down on esps.

 

I'm actually going to attempt a pet shop of sorts. But it will be different to the old Cheydinhal Petshop. I have a location and name etc but that's as far as I've gotten. I'm not sure how I'm going to script it. But I have some ideas.

 

I'm waiting to hear about permission for the textures. If I get it the impling will be gold and there will be a story to go with it which is half done. It doesn't rely on the colour.

I've made the nest and cluttered it with things an imp would "steal" or borrow. :smile: Created the pet and it's in the world.

 

The gargoyles you mention are huge if they are the ones from Martigen's Monster Mod. They look like they are made of stone with red wings. They are pretty darn hard to kill I know that much. :verymad: Of course trying to hit something made of stone with a toothpick sword while it's flying around you is hilarious. I prefer the scorch and electrify method. ;D

 

Anyway, back to it. Just letting you know it's progressing. :)

I found the perfect location, put everything in place and I'm defeated by HAVOC!

 

This is a rhetorical question...why does everything sink into rocks and disappear?? :verymad: Either that or the items fly for miles like missiles and the one special item you need has gone to the center of the planet. :pinch:

 

Anyway, I'm just going to relocate the little imp to a more, I hope, suitable spot. Or I have another idea to shore up the "rocks" so they don't absorb everything like sponges. :sweat:

 

Don't be worried. :biggrin: I'm not complaining. It's all a learning experience and I think I'll use the little imp myself...it's so cute.

 

He's all working perfectly. Purrs nicely, runs away at speed if anything looks sideways at him and comes looking for you after you get rid of the baddies.

 

Regarding the purring...Currently I have it set up so he purrs when you activate him to wait or follow. Works fine. :thumbsup:

 

I did have it so he purrs as his idle anim sound ( normally wings flapping sound) but you might find it annoying because no matter what % I give it he purrs constantly. Like the wing flapping.

Although, it's really most noticeable when he's close and I have a fair follow distance so you hear it most when YOU go close to him.

I might release it with two esp files and you can choose which one you want. That would be the easy way.

 

It won't take long to relocate him. I've done a small quest and just have to finish a little story.

This is strictly a pet mod, not a fighting companion so don't expect any help from the little tyke!

:biggrin: It's done! As long as the power doesn't go off I'll be uploading soon. We're in the middle of a summer storm.

 

Like I said it has the vanilla textures until I get permission to use the ones I wanted OR if someone would like to do a dark golden texture I would be grateful. I'm no texturer, not even a beginner... :biggrin:

 

Re the purring again....personally I prefer it to the constant sound of flapping wings so I've done two esp(s). You can choose which you'd like to use or swap them over.

 

There's a little story and a starting quest to find Tarana. She may need some stats adjusted so I'll leave the testing up to you. I've done enough to know she will flee like a rocket if anything comes near and will come back after.

Her stats are the same as the vanilla imp except for a speed increase so she can keep up, intelligence boost, lowered aggression and confidence so she will flee.

 

I can't do much about the fact that other enemies will notice her, like horse loving bandits :rolleyes: but she will fly away. Or just don't take her dungeon delving.

I imagine it can be scripted but I'm not good enough to do it.

When I read it just now I have dl it right away. I really haven't got time but I just had to see her.

 

It just was the funniest thing when I found her! :D

 

Nice spot overlooking the waterfall, all those of little trinkets, bits of food, too funny!

 

And then there was Tarana herself. Have you ever seen anything more cute?! I ran away and sure she came racing after me, flapping as fast as she could, and then she started purring. ;D

 

Its absolutely perfect Maigrets! Tonight when Ive got time I'll write a proper comment for the mod. For now I just wanted to quickly say: THANK YOU! :) :smile:
